Just want to check am i getting conned by my property agent. My rental is RM900 a month and its a 1+1 contract.
But he is charging me RM500 for the tenancy and stamping fee.

But i checked online also about RM300++

Paid deposit of RM900 and if don't sign then will lose the money. But can't help feeling like i'm being conned.

Yup. Definitely a con.

if u really need it then just pay. but take picture of the tenancy agreement after sign. Usually its based on rental amount, higher rental, higher fee. Mine just a mere RM100 for a RM600 monthly rental.

Agent already got 1 month rental as their commission from the landlord. To eat almost another half month from the tenant is a scam.

Anyway, when paying the deposit, you didnt sign on any Letter Offer? Or black and white document? Normally will be stated the cost how much and need to pay by who.

Ya got sign a letter offer, which states how much is my rental and utility deposit, and how much i've paid them. if I'm not mistaken didn't mention anything about tenancy agreement and legal fee cost. That one, the agent just quote it to me.

The agent is somewhat forcing me to pay the RM500. They will send me a email copy of the tenancy agreement before i sign. But then, is there other way to do it without getting con by the agent?

Agent usually quote all in fee. Sometimes u untung cos ur rental high but capped by that fee they collect.

See how u wanna argue with agent. Next time check the actual cost/fees before signing booking form
