Ferrari need to worry and start to think why this weekend they lost to Red Bull, in qualifying, sprint race, and race. We can see Leclerc has no chance versus Perez, even tried soft tyre he wasn't fast enough and have to overdrive the car until the mistake...
With Red Bull fixed the reliability and Verstappen doesn't make mistake on his own (except head to head versus Hamilton accident) since 2020, he will chew back the points and get back the championship lead.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Apr 25 2022, 11:05 AM) After seeing how struggling Mercs is especially LH, I am gonna throw you all a few questions to guess: 1. Will this finally be the year LH doesn't win a single race? 2. Will GR outscore LH by end of the season? 3. Will VB finally able to outscore LH by end of a season? 1. Will this finally be the year LH doesn't win a single race? Answer: Yes 2. Will GR outscore LH by end of the season? Answer: Yes 3. Will VB finally able to outscore LH by end of a season? Answer: Yes You can check back Vettel 2020 season, it's very similar.

Dr. Helmut Marko joked Hamilton should've retired end of 2021 instead of suffering like now https://www.crash.net/f1/news/1001616/1/mar...er-being-lapped

QUOTE(6UE5T @ May 10 2022, 02:10 PM) CL had a new engine. Yeah it could be back and forth but so far the pattern looks like Ferrari is quicker on more balanced tracks while RB has advantage on tracks with longer full throttle sections. So for short term outlook to the next say 4-5 races to mid year: Catalunya: 50/50, maybe Ferrari can have slight advantage Monaco: Ferrari has advantage Baku: RB could win with that super long straight Canada: again RB could have advantage cuz long straights. Silverstone: 50/50. Nah, Red Bull fastest straight-line speed already obvious since last year, nothing fresh. I remember Toto and Hamilton crying how fast the Honda engine was during opening few rounds, Hamilton can only sticking behind Max and not able to closing enough for overtake during DRS. Only after Mexico race Mercedes brought spicy engine mode to give Hamilton rocket straight-line speed. With Perez down 25hp during last weekend's race but still able to maintain healthy 4th place finish, no doubt Honda engine is the best package.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ May 13 2022, 01:07 PM) I wonder... I think Mercedes engine more spicy towards the 2nd half last year. Honda PU just more consistent. Plus the first half of 2021, RB was running a flexy rear wing for few races before being banned. I recall Red Bull's straigh-line speed seems to be more superior after the flexi-wing banned.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ May 13 2022, 11:23 PM) I cant remember top speed but I think Mercedes wasn't able to follow the RB through corner when the rear wing was flexing. After it was banned, then only Lewis started trading blows with Max. Actually on that old article I linked, inside got 1 comment said it's karma because Mercedes making the flexi-wing banned then Red Bull showing superior straight-line speed. Regardless it's good job Red Bull/Honda able to maintain this advantage (bar Hamilton's spicy mode) carrying forward to 2022.

QUOTE(amdxp @ May 21 2022, 07:49 AM) Which team will come up top in the race among the three ? Can fragile RBPT engine sustain another hard battle in Spain ? 😜 Fragile? What you watching? It's usually the common spec fuel pump or those fuel delivery issue. Honda engine has been superb reliable since last year while Mercedes resorted to pile of engine for Bottas stating abnormal noise or probably exploiting penalty rules

I reckon porpoising will be less at Barcelona and Monaco, as they have done the pre-season testing here that time it wasn't as violent as seen on other race track. Come Baku maybe the porpoising back to hot topic.

Lewis asking to save engine instead. With environmental conscious and budget cap, might as well after 10 laps only Top 10 race, after 20 laps only Top 5 race? Lol
