I also hoped it was but honestly CS doesn't deserve this win if based on his speed. He was clearly behind MV, CL, and even LH in pure speed in this race yet he got lucky as Ferrari somehow protected him and Ocon DNF.

CL might leave Ferrari. I think he's being fuck bad left right center. A car with front wing damage is faster than an accident free car. I think Ferrari is giving back to CS after asking him to let CL through, but Ferrari might be racing among themselves than RB or Mercedes. Ferrari threw away a possible 1-2.
*
Looking at how strong CL resisted at the end, in hindsight if CS did not escape in front but try give CL a tow to give DRS train, they might still ended up 1-2 but CS simply did his own race and Ferrari didn't tell him too. I guess CS and Ferrari didn't dare to risk it, especially since it's CS maiden win.

Ferrari Ross Brawn : Rubens, let Michael pass...

Ferrari Stefano Domenicali : Fernando is faster than you, do you copy...

Ferrari Mattio Binotto : Dont complain about race strategy
*
Brawn era Ferrari was so cunning and ruthlessly focused on winning. They didn't care even to deny RB his 1st win as long as they maximize their chance of title winning.

Sources reported CL raged to Ferrari during debrief! He needs to be careful cuz Ferrari historically never allows such behaviour.

Hahaha so much sensationalize

Of course he is angry who doesn't

This week red bull ring which is ok but next is the awful ugly boring Paul Ricard..yuck!!!
*
I think CL is still ok as long as he doesn't air out his anger and criticism in the media. If that happens then Ferrari won't take that lightly.

It seems like Red Bull and possibly Ferrari are playing with flexing floor which explained how they have almost zero porpoising. How much will it slow them down... this would be interesting in the next couple of races if RB starts to porpoise.

https://www.planetf1.com/news/mercedes-shoc...exi-floor-hint/

I wonder if this is also how Alpine turn their porpoising on and off.
*
Ferrari is still porpoising almost as bad as Mercs, just that they are fast. RB is the one with much less porpoising.

QUOTE(voscar @ Jul 5 2022, 10:27 PM)
Few races back everyone praises CL's gentleman act after his car failed, comforting Ferrari camp and leaving emotion behind, now exploded pula?
*
Too many lost opportunities and points to CL due to Ferrari's issue, 2 engine DNF causing grid penalty then 2 bad strategy calls, all of those while he was in front hence such big point swing towards MV. Otherwise he would still lead the points by a big margin. Anyone will lose patience on such condition.

A win was taken away from him, what do you think he will react ?

Just like a win was taken away from LH in last Abu Dahbi, what do you think his supporters will feel ?

For CL, there is no reason why Ferrari choose to pit the slower driver who is also lower in drivers' standing in term of point, instead of CL.  Don't make sense at all.
*
Binotto said they worry LH and RB didn't pit hence sacrificing the lead position, and they thought the softs will drop off fast like in Canada.

Ferrari is choosing the winner here... so no one to blame really. This is a preference game. Maybe Ferrari see Charles as being a possible candidate to replace Lewis and Mercedes will try to spanar him in the next 1-2 years. Hence they are going all-in with CS just to be safe.
Total bullshit... Silverstone is one of the track that is pretty ok on tyres despite the high speed nature of the track. Most of the time, they are doing 1 stop here. Just sometimes graining but hardly anything huge on tyres to be honest.
*
Well Silverstone used to blow out tires on the hangar straight, remember? If I recall correctly LH was limping on 3 wheels after tire failure to win in 2020, right? Anyway this year car/tire spec and size is different than before and that's modern Ferrari F1 team, not good on aggressive strategies and inclines toward conservative side.

there are only 2 things, one is a huge blunder which i think it is and 2nd those behind pitwall just want sainz to win it..maybe sainz got them some nice fish and chips the night before lol

but one thing for sure in ferrari, if its not power unit exploding its the team itself..there will always be something this is why ferrari wont win a damn thing ever

the end

hope for a entertaining weekend
*
Seems like a bit of both and yeah, Ferrari will never win titles if continue like this.

Top 3 are damn close, could have been top 4 so close if LH didn't crash. Ferrari has a good chance but they need to work together to beat MV and to watch for GR not to steal points from them as Mercs now looks very competitive.

boring.....today sprint show us whats its gonna be tomorrow

apart from the brief ferrari scrap and young mick holding off lewis nth much to say
*
Yup, Ferrari's chance tomorrow is mostly at the start. They have to somehow device alternate strategies between the 2 drivers and work together to lure bait for MV otherwise he will just win easily.

Bro,

Any prediction for next week special draw?
*
Hahaha, 2/3rd prediction correct, unfortunately the dnf engine failure happened to CS instead of MV! Lol

Very glad finally CL got to win again, hopefully now the momentum can swing back in his favor to close back the points.

Why SP and GR? What did they do to annoy you?
*
So that SP scores zero and Ferrari can catch up a lot in constructors but alas CS also scores zero. Lol

QUOTE(Matchy @ Jul 10 2022, 10:15 PM)
surprisingly ferrari decision making pretty good this week... hmm.gif
*
But it's much easier decision today cus they got tire life advantage.

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jul 10 2022, 10:38 PM)
Awkward situation whenever Lewis and Max in the same room. Are they still not talking?

Charles face don't look good even with the win... Looks like a drug addict. These few weeks taking a toll with his health. Probably not sleeping.
*
LH took a weak dig at MV after Silverstone cuz he and CL went through Copse cleanly, not realizing that CL actually squeezed him more than MV last year, so MV hit back at LH easily by saying good that now at 37yrs old he still learns to drive better. Lol So yeah those 2 certainly are not going friendly.
