I guess Mercedes trying max party mode to see how fast was it, while Ferrari on usual Friday low power mode. Mercedes must be frustrated to see their party mode can't run away, with Bottas behind both Ferrari and one Verstappen. It was Hamilton's brilliant drive for the top spot.

Leaders with confidence does always sandbagging during practices.
Believe Vettel-Ferrari only able to compete with middle group less than 0.2s separated with Redbull, Alfa Romeo, Renault? Lol I bet Ferrari were toying others right now.

I wouldn't worry much. Vettel has strong record and good luck on Melbourne track. Mercedes's party mode may not designed for Sunday race.

Hell no... The usual tradition when Mercedes doesn't won the season opening, that season they've got challenged from opponents. With VB whom never won a race last year won comfortably big margin, this season could be repeat of Mercedes 2016 internal affairs. Others can't cope with their performance. What a bad season...

OK saw highlight, what an anti-climate for Ferrari. Hamilton is definitely on Vettel's head, Ferrari need a young, raw driver whom not fear of Hamilton and able to go head-to-head with Hamilton, to replace Mr. V. Perhaps Mick Schumacher? But not that soon lar. Current on the grid I think Verstappen. OK guys, Leclerc engine issue is actually a single injector fault, nothing else and the engine is safe for next races. It's not because of party mode or sorta, so it's OK to continue running in such high performance mode on future races. Good sign, expect the same Ferrari shine on straight-line speed in which opponents were jealous.
