Hey guys,
thought it would be interesting to talk about the beautiful game's many rules and regulations. i think sometimes, a lot of fans don't fully understand the exact rules, and are too lazy to read the 'official' rule book etc
Therefore, as football fans, let's help educate each other and help each other clarify questions about the various rules.
Allow me to start :
1) So, what's the deal with taking fast direct free kicks (on goal)? When is it allowed, when is it not allowed? 2) A quick trivia question for those who never thought of it before, but DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN a Goalkeeper uses his hand to catch the ball when his his teammate passes the ball back to him? (backpass rule)

The thing about the quick free kick is that some referees don't even ALLOW quick free kicks to be taken, meaning they won't even ask the player whether he wants to take - because it's a very controversial thing.
i think that there should be less of a gray area in this aspect.
The backpass offence that happens INSIDE the 6 yard box requires that ALL 11 players stand in one straight line (goalline) and it's an indirect free kick. so the moment the first player touches the ball, the 10 players in the box will rush out to close down/press!
Added on April 16, 2007, 11:51 amHandball should always be about HAND TO BALL rather than BALL TO HAND.
Hand to Ball simply means sticking your hand out when you shouldn't. Ball to hand is when you use your hand to protect your body/face and the ball hits your hand even though u're keeping it within your body

1. different rules for different cup competitions and at different stages
for eg. EPL - 5 yellow cards = 1 match banned (the domestic cups are all applicable)
meaning that if you get 4 yellow cards in EPL, then 1 yellow card in FA cup, u'll be banned for one match in the next domestic match.
if i'm not wrong, in CL, every 3 yellow cards = 1 match banned? please help me clarify, guys

haha yeah abandoned match Another question : when a keeper saves an oncoming ball near the edge of the penalty box (18 yard box) and he slides in on the ball and manages to catch the ball , but part of his body slides OUT of the box, is that considered a foul?

oh so if club A were leading 1 -0 and club B's club supporters did stuff and hit the referee etc and it got abandoned, so club B loses :|

Keepers usually get redcarded instantly when they fly into a tackle and don't get the ball , because that's actually directly interfering with a chance on goal (against the keeper)

they'll go on and on until wins. meaning the first person who took the penalty will take it again, but i think it's very rare

wahaha biologically speaking, it won't happen because the water content within your body will be excreted via sweat , instead of turning into pee so because the amount of pee is very little, surely they can tahan till half time
