just curious...
can u still find F30?
if yes, how much??

btw, how much is the price for this 2 DC?
if u already invested in SD card, stick with 800is

else i would suggest u get a F30/F31
y?
better battery life 500 vs 240 (canon)
better indoor pic (provided u learn how to use Fuji DC)

also...u should know this
xD memory is more expensive than SD
Fuji got this purple fringing thing

all in all, i still go for Finepix
y? cos i alreadd using F31

thz ur comment smile.gif
undoubtedly, F31 and F30 are the cameras which rated as highly recommended camera among all compact cameras in dpreview.com. thumbup.gif
However, after i read the spec and function, i found that F30/F31 does not hv image stabilization function (but tis function quite emphasis for canon and panasonic cameras)
so, could it affect the image quality like easy get the blur picture if i using nite mode or other specify mode for F30/F31?without using tripod la... icon_question.gif

for taking still picture, OIS is great to have but not crucial, you can still get sharp pic at 1/4 SS easily without OIS.

but if you take lots of video, then OIS is a must, you should buy lumix if vid is more important than still pic to you.
??!!

Ooo~so i think the image stabilization function quite important to me. well, i will try to compare both Ixus 800is or fujifilm finepix F30 by catching still pic and video (with auto mode)before i buy the camera in shop. tongue.gif

But, i heard that lumix got noisy pic problem, izit? really? rclxub.gif or got any good compact camera model in lumix series...? intro abit ,k?...actually before that i also consider TZ3 becoz powerful optical zoom compact camera...BUT, over budget!~ brows.gif

sometime usable ISO with low noise works better thant IS

nope. picture stabilizing means the camera will auto adjust the iso to 1600 or 3200 for u

want to try Leica's D Lux series?...RM2.6 k nia. smile.gif
Dunno about sensor performance.
Lens performance I'll not question since it's a Leica.

between OIS & high ISO, i'd rather have high ISO. u can substitute OIS with some camera handling technique, timer or tripod but you can't substitute high ISO with something else. that's why i choose fuji. anyway, dream cam would be to have both...

wah~ ISO can also perform like tis huh! anyway, i think image stabilization less important to me after i get ur idea. And also if i buy powerful zooming camera, i think IS is necessary, but i am not. laugh.gif

u r so nice willing to let me try u camera. smile.gif but i think i will decide go for F31 so no need try anymore. however, hmm.gif if still can find F30 with cheaper price, i will go for tis..hehe

f31 compare to dslr nikon d50:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilmf31fd/page15.asp

f31 image is clearer, imo beat d50 at iso800, plus the tiny pocketable size, definitely better than bulky dslr.
