Interested in a condo unit for living with my wife. Planning to start a family soon.

Owner offers 460k, 980sqft, Paramount View condo, leasehold.

I've visited the property, it's currently being rented out to 3 uni students. Owner will give us all the furniture but I don't want any of them. They just look so worn and depressing. Owner isn't willing to reduce the price in exchange of us not taking the furnishing.

I'm not sure if I should go ahead. I'm worried if I'll end up with a bunch of hidden defects that I'm not aware of. I don't really trust college students to take good care of their rented places.

The owner seemed to be very eager of selling it ASAP. What should I do to make sure I won't regret buying it?

Management-wise?

Environment-wise? - starting a family, noisy place would be poor.

Inspect thoroughly the unit’s interior and exterior to see if there are any underlying problems that have not been disclosed, especially if you are buying a condo that has been owned previously.

View more units, then you'll be able to decide better. No need to rush into buying something you'll regret later, especially property

So what happened ts? You going through with the purchase.

I for one, would never buy a condo for own living if most of the tenants are students.

There's no need to hire professionals for inspection. You could inspect the basics itself; toilets, plumbing, no wiring hanky panky, no leaks, things like that. And make sure the owner removes all the unwanted furniture before vacant possession.

Decided to go around shopping for new upcoming condo units instead.

Eyeing on the Razak City residence thing at the moment. Will check out their showroom later.

Depend on your preference.

Because now days new development tend to have all the complete facilities but of course with higher maintenance fees.

I prefer old units because most of it is 'freehold' and spacious.

New condo 400k = 900 sq ft

Old condo 400k = 1200 sq ft

Thats from my own observation since i'm looking for a condo as well.

Plus old condo's you can ask the tenants and check out online hows the review of that place so far.

try to walk around and look around frequently at the quality of resident and management first before commit.
