I just received 2 letters from LHDN stating that I have failed to submit the Borang E for 2 of my companies,and that I am subjected to penalties. The thing is....

1) Both Borang E was SUBMITTED ONLINE via their E-Hasil website.
2) Both companies have NO EMPLOYEES
3) When I did the submission at LHDN, I asked the staffs what should I do when there is no employees to be reported. The staffs mentioned that I just select "Melalui Data Pra-Isi" (via Pre-Inserted Information) in the form and submit.
4) I printed the acknowledgments and submitted to their processing centre in Bangi for receipt purposes. They chop and sign BEFORE the last day for submission (i.e: 31st March 2017).

What did I do wrong here? I am going to their office today (which is damn far) just to sort out this "problem". Anyone got the same letter?

Sometimes the information might not be clear. Just go to LHDN and discuss with the officer. Also, what use of 2 companies with no employee? just for tax loophole purpose?

If you online submit, you have to fill in the blank form company name enough if you have no employee. Probably could kena fine money.

Else go LHDN with the letters to clarify. If not after 5 years you will kena lawyer letter and they say no nego and you pay a hell lot more for nothing.

Well, one of the company is active as we are using it for business purposes. The other is dormant, but we need it for other business just incase.

Just go to LHDN, brings all proper documents and clarify, that is all. All long as they are satisfied with your proof, there is nothing to be worried about.

I don't really get what you meant, but in the "Maklumat Bilangan Pekerja" section, I put all "0".

I think you better check which branch that produce the letter. Last time I received an audit letter from them (KL branch), when to Damansara Perdana branch to submit and they told me must go to the place where the letter was produced and submit there.

Make time & go to LHDN to get explanation. Dun delay. You are already compunding fine when you get first letter.

Not surprising as the Govt's coffers are almost empty.
They are going all out to squeeze as much as they can from the rakyat.
My sister migrated to Australia years ago and she settled all her obligations in Malaysia before leaving, but even so she was summoned not once, but thrice by LHDN to settle the taxes. Her in-laws went to the office each time to clear the issues.

This branch aa... very trigger happy to issue saman. No other branch as gungho as them.

U got the acknowledgement slip from e-filing right? And certain the date submitted is before deadline? That's as strong evidence as can be that you did nothing wrong.

Just write simple letter, say u attach the slip as proof u submitted on time. Get acknowledgement copy, the officer's extension number for future reference. Try to request them letter to say they waived your saman.
