I've really enjoyed the EVO 212's budget performance but am thinking of upgrading to see if i can get my CPU to overclock a little further and would really appreciate your guys great input.

4770k @ 4.3ghz 1.27v - idles 28c 75C average max 85c

Thinking of going Noctua but open to suggestions.

There isn't anything considerably better that isn't going to cost you more money.

Your best best is getting an AIO watercooler

I'm not interested in liquid cooling tho.

Top tier air costs less, and I'd say is way more dependable and cools just as well, especially at same noise levels.

Problem is I have no idea which to buy atm with my current setup.

If you have extra budget, you can invest to Cryorig other than Noctua. Check some reviews online and pick the best within your budget and preferred design.

Looking at your OC, your temp is still fine. You can start to worry whenever the temp shoots > 95 deg under full load.

Try to play around with vcore as it can greatly influenced the max freq of you proc. Cheers mate. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hence that is why I was looking for a better air coolers.

Was just reading on a review which put Noctua D15 and Cryorig R1 ultimate within 1c of each other in multiple tests.

Which I will choose depends on my CPU-PCIE & RAM clearance tho.

Did u upgrade your cooler for the 4770k? Im currently using the same proc and cooler. Doing 4.2 @ 1.23v. Temps ( Idle: 33, Average : 58 , Max Load : 82 (will go 84 for prolong gaming)

I was wondering if you've changed yours. Thinking of upgrading my air cooler to another better air cooler smile.gif

Dont change yours. The insignificant drop in load temperature doesnt really affect much on performance during gaming.

Currently im on ID cooling due to aesthetics. innocent.gif

Out of topic

Is Hyper TX3 Evo to Hyper 212 consider an upgrade?

When OCed my Phenom II x4 965 cannot reach to 3.9Ghz on prime95, will BSOD (I know it temperature limit reach already)

But stable on 3.8Ghz never reach 70c on load.
