One possible reason it didn’t fully open is because they didn’t want the boot to hit something especially when you are unaware something is above when opening the boot from inside the car.

It has to be the B type door seal. Any other type, I think it'll be too thick and will cause problems when closing the door and might potentially damage your car rubber

A better system is Lane Centering assist where actively center the car at the middle of the lane (heard hyundai have good LCS). Also all these systems need to have the sensor be absolutely clean to function at its best
