Hi, im thinking to get new civic 1.5 turbo version. I want to understand, is it worth it to get premium version compared to normal version? The price differ ard rm 7k for the dual zone air-cond, navigation & led headlight. The navigation is soo hebat kee?

Appreciate if some owner of 1.5tc & 1.5tcp give me advise & heads up.
*
only LED headlamps seems attractive for the extra 7.8k
the dual zone occupied one left knob for TC-P, i notice cannot adjust fan speed when start the car, need to wait the HU to boot (although not too long)
for none premium, left knob is adjust fan speed and turn off fan

This will also disable remote engine start? Locktech has the same thing also which if not unlocked you can’t start the car. Locktech also has a model that comes with its own alarm if tampered. Useful if they disabled your car alarm. At least that’s what I think it is
*
i use lock tech, still can remote start

QUOTE(0501024 @ Aug 15 2018, 02:37 PM)
just did my first 1k service (which was only replacing the engine oil), is that correct? i was expecting oil filter/engine oil at least.

then the servicing gut told me dont need to follow the mileage service interval like 10k/20k etc. just come back when the indicator light A or B lights up. anyone else can confirm?

as for me i would prefer to keep to the service booklet interval... but wonder if new cars interval depend mainly on sensors and indicators
*
you still need follow 10k/20k/30k or 6/12/18months
just that you have extra A and B to go back change engine oil, if you go back do A/B near your 10k/20k, you can do it together

for example, you go 1k free inspection, your A notify you when your mileage is 6k, you go back service center for service A (at this point if your car is 6 months you can combine 10k service), because 10k or 6 months, if not yet 6 months only less than 3 months, you can wait til 6 months or 10k come back do 10k... but your car will be on B, if 6 months or 10k reach but your B still have few thousand km to go, you can opt for 10k service only

it is tedious sweat.gif it is not just follow A or B, the 10k/20k/30k or 6/12/18 months still applicable

make it simple, the normal interval is 10k or 6 months, 20k or 12 months and so on
you have extra A or B to go back change engine oil
*you can combine A/B with the interval service if it is close... if it is not, you can choose to come back (which is ....)

Sorry this might sound stupid. But has anyone noticed the arm rest on the civic feels a little too flimsy? When i rest my arm on the centre of the arm rest i can feel it slanting lower. Is it coz of the overhang design leaving no support on the front end of the arm rest?
*
hmm, not for me, my arm/hand will place side bit, didnt really put exactly center, when it slide max to front, i dont think it is something overhang like you mentioned, gonna check again on mine later biggrin.gif

Why would someone getting out of the car rely on the center console arm rest to get out of the car?

Or do you mean the ones on the door. The door ones are inevitably going to be flimsy because it is just a door card help up by a couple of clips and screws. There is no internal bracing to strengthen the entire thing.
*
i can understand, because civic seat generally lower i can say, they need hold something to get up, pushing the center arm rest to assist getting out of the car is normal i think smile.gif
imagine normal seat with both side arm rest, some older folks might use to support standing up, but young people may not use it

it is normal, my car first oil change was at 7.5k. all depends on how you drive and also traffic jam or not
*
last time mine is ~7.5k when 80% city drive... now can reach 10k+ when 40% city drive, 60% highway, my car this round engine oil change already pass 10k usage, but still have 700km from the indicator sweat.gif so i have to go service soon, i use remote engine start quite often, like few times a week...

May I know the source? New altis will be approx 150k.i doubt that the price will be similar to current pricing with added features. 😅
*
usually facelift model will try to maintain the price, because already 2-3 years model... facelift and added feature to get more new buyers for next 2-3 years biggrin.gif before new design coming out
to get new buyers feel worthy laugh.gif

the added fan speed button to TC-P is good (CR-V is having this button), something makes me buy the TC instead of TC-P two years ago...

p/s: i owned a 2017 TC smile.gif

Everytime only get 4500km , are they simply reset wrongly? So get more service?
*
depends on your driving, whether city more or highway more

my first engine oil change at ~7000km, then second engine oil change last ~9500km, my third engine oil change last ~10000km
until now ~34000 already almost 2 years, 50% highway, 50% city drive... i am light pedal drive biggrin.gif only over 120KM/h sometime at highway, usually cruise within 100KM/h

Actually i,m not sure or understand what is service A &B. Can elaborate further?
*
for turbo, not only u need service car every 10,000km interval

there is a maintenance minder system which remind you when to change engine oil
A : change engine oil only
B : change engine oil and filter

how frequent change engine oil depends on your driving, some hard pedal might get it change ~6000-7000, some light pedal can last 10,000 (like me sweat.gif) once a while hard pedal only

the trouble here is you "may" need few service to actually get service interval and engine oil change align (closer)

for example if your first service interval is 10,000km (ignore 1,000km nothing change just inspection)

but your minder system remind you to send for A : engine oil change at 6,000km, so you send there but your car have not reach 10,000km... you can choose ONLY do engine oil change (since it is A), after that will reset become B, another 4,000km your car reach 10,000km service interval, you need send car again (but at this moment what is your minder system showing, it could be 5,000km more to go before change engine oil and filter), so in the end, you may visit service center for A then 10,000km then B (3 times in this scenario)

BUT all above is explaining on AB and service interval, i already get my car service interval and AB close together ~1-2,000km so whenever i do service interval my car usually reach A/B engine oil, so it become lesser visit to service center just like normal only go during every service interval 10,000km

also side note, they actually recommend change engine oil every 6 months, if your car unlikely drive more than 10,000km or more than the minder system km, you will end up just go TWICE every 6months

If you don’t hard pedal what’s the point go for turbo ? How to boost with light pedal ? Traffic jam or idling more or enjoy Aircond waiting people will reduce oil life. Basically every time I change engine oil ( Service A ) I will ask them change the oil filter along. About RM30 more only.
*
up to personal, the car paid by me sweat.gif why i cannot choose a turbo? lol, your statement seems like every turbo car have to be hard pedal driver... you pay them to be hard pedal?
like you change filter every A/B, i would not comment, the manual recommend B only change filter, i am just giving what the manual stated, you can change engine oil every 1,000, no issue for me, thats your money

hi sifus here, is the turbo engine oil need to change every 6 months or follow the engine oil maintenance minder system indicator? (is it whichever comes first?) hmm.gif
my mileage is ~1200KM a month...
my next service due somewhere mid of June (50,000KM service), due to mco, the minder system for oil change still have 6000KM to go and my last service of engine oil change is mid of Dec 2019 smile.gif thanks

Honda Malaysia very geng, makes us sign a 12 months notice that the original battery's warranty is only for 12 months / 20,000km.

Sure enough, my battery kong after 13 months hahaha, going with Century Marathoner now, any feedback its quality? Should be better than the original battery right?
*
mine replace just few days before 12 months warranty ends by service center less than 2 years ago, some how the replacement battery now after 19 months still good, last week I sent my car for 50,000KM service, I asked them after my car get service, they said battery still in good condition.
