Wait n see how in the next 3 days.
Nowadays they put the Chassis number at the passenger door side ya. Not in the engine bay like older cars.
Maybe makes the car abit easier to steal?

QUOTE(neuromancerx @ Jun 20 2020, 09:08 PM) Define nowadays? My old civic es had the numbers stamped on the door as well. And how this made the car easier to steal? I came from a Nissan Sentra, that Number is in the Engine bay. Just a simple thought that it would be easier to swap out, or replace the VIN plate at the door compared to the one in the Engine bay. That's all. QUOTE(sp6068 @ Jun 20 2020, 11:55 PM) Hello Civic owners! Older Folks may not like how low the Civic is, when getting in and out of the car.My dad is considering to get 1.5 TC 2020 facelift version as the daily driver to replace his aging myvi, any owners of this new model care to share what to expect or to take into consideration before buying? Thanks |

my steering starts to knock knock knock while turning at slow speed. So.. should just live with it or risk changing it but maybe encountering more problems?

How much is your yearly insurance?
For my 2 years old 1.8, Berjaya Sompo, NCD 30% .. RM1.9k a year. Not sure if other insurance companies are lower .. or higher. |

A month after steering rack replacement, tiny 'tok tok tok' sounds are audible again.. Hmm.... Anyway, I wanna say a few good things about the civic 1.8 (Aug 2018) so far. a) Notice that the side skirting are a separate part. So even if scratched, I tell myself no prob, one day just change to some bodykit. I notice other cars, this bottom area is one with the body. ![]() b) This car can take corners really confidently. c) The Brake hold is really useful in jams. I like how drama free it is when u press the accel, whicl releases the car immediately and smoothly. d) the 1st Gen 1.8 rims are quite dirt n dust resistant. haha.. e) CVT response is really immediate and so far it just goes when I want it to. Seems the Civic FC has Steering rack issues across the world. It's an electrical steering instead of Hydraulic i think.
another eg civicx forum . Steering problem a) do you think a https://www.change.org/petitions directed at Honda Japan would change anything? Global Recall? b) Would many owners be selling this Civic at the end of 5 years warranty? This post has been edited by nlik: Dec 6 2020, 10:02 PM |

New City is also using the electric power steering. So yet to be seen if the same problem occurs. QUOTE(SiewLee30 @ Dec 7 2020, 12:13 PM) I'm a keeper, so will keep my civic fc forever. after claimed front sensor last time no other issue other than dashboard rattling Baby Mileage, no wonder . if A pillar driver side rattle, then that's a common problem too, stick a tiny piece of paper between the dash n pillar. a) put in D, Auto brake hold on, then just floor the accelerator pedal? b) put in D, left leg hold the brakes and right leg on the accelerator pedal to a certain RPM. Then let go brakes and dump accelerator pedal all the way down? c) same as b), but instead of 100% down the accel pedal, you gradually press down the accel pedal? d) secret launch control menu? e) some other launch from standstill method? Then, which is faster? launch in S or L mode ? This post has been edited by nlik: Jan 16 2021, 02:11 PM |
