I thought price is standard for all Honda SC price.
If i were u, definitely will avoid to Honda SC went before. Charge 3x times compared to other SC.

205/45/R16 is not a wise choice as the wheel will end up having less circumference and you end up with a speedo showing speeds faster than actual. Not necessarily a bad thing, but then the paranoid will say more wheel rotations per mile means less bearing life even if it might not be possible to prove it.

You can check the difference here, just enter both sizes with the stock size in tire 1
https://tiresize.com/comparison/

Furthermore, you mentioned comfort biased driver. Being comfort biased, you should opt to take a higher profile rather than lower profile. At 215/55, you have 118mm or tire sidewall while using a narrower 205/45 profile you have only 92mm of sidewall height giving you less plushiness when you go over rough roads. Unless you are doing it for looks, it doesn't go in accordance to your directions. Furthermore, it might look worst due to increased fender gap on the wheels.

Just my 2 cents

Hi knightSports,

1.8 Civic equip with odd tire size. Even the price for 215/55/R16(1.8 N/A) expensive than 215/50/R17(1.5TC/1.5TCP).
Myself prefer to go michelin PS3 or PS4 tires. PS3 has size of 215/55/R16. But has been superseded by PS4. Does Michelin still manufacture PS3 tire?
Problem is PS4 dont have size of 205/55/R16.
Therefore, appreciate if you can give some hint or your review on PS4 205/55/R16 size for 1.8 Civic.

Ohh, wasn't aware of that. Might as well you wait until the tire is down to it's minimal thread depth before deciding. I am sure there are other options out there that you can purchase. All 205 width tires and above is usually never cheap in the first place anyways.

I believe PS3st is still in the market, it is still listed in Michelin malaysia. I got a pair mid last year when PS4 was launched. But, it might be old stock or something. Not sure.

Anyways, it makes no sense to swap just because the tire is expensive. You have it already and you might as well use it up first before deciding next course of action.

I am first batch of Civic owner and going to celebrate 2 yrs anniversary soon. Tires thread depth are getting lower and going to replace new tires in couple of months.

It is not worth to purchase old stock PS3 tire.
My problem is solve IF found PS3 tires made in year of 2017/2018. <-- anyone can recommend where to get?

Even Continental MC6 doesn't produce 215/55/R16 size tire. doh.gif

Wow! 2 years. Kudos.

You can try your luck. I think it might still be around.

Actually, tires that are slightly older are better. They tend to wear slower as the compound hardened a bit sitting on the shelf. Might not have the best of grip, but it won't be terrible.

You can try to call Hock Li or Hin Leong in Klang jalan Kapar to try your luck. No need to travel all your way down there to find out.

I believe PS3 and PS4 is also priced very differently as my 205/45r17 was slightly below RM400 and PS4 of the same size at that time was way over that.

Sifus, been driving my 1.8 for 3 weeks and got average of 13km/liter. 75 city 25 highway.

Using Shell 95, is the mileage acceptable?

75% city. 13km/L is acceptable.
Managed to clock 9950km at average 15km/L at 70% Highway.
I would civic pretty fuel saved.

Go for Michelin Primacy 4st - RM390.
Using more than 6 months. So far so good.
Well grip even wet condition compare to stock tyres.
