i dont have canon camera, i dont think you need the software, the OS should detect the camera as an external drive and you can directly copy files from windows explorer, this is how it should work.

theoretically it should, my Olympus also works like that. detected as external drive.

however i've used Canon Ixus before and so have other people, and they have that annoying piece of software which i'm not sure if it's a MUST / NEED but when i was using that camera (from my previous employment) it is as such.

what i do avoid the software is to get a memory card reader. smile.gif

hmm probably the manufacturers make the software compulsory on newer cams, this sucks donkey.

using memory card also not that convenient, need to take out /put in the tiny mem card.

The manual of my Fuji f31 also says..do not connect camera to PC unless you have installed some prog. to view the pixs.( sounds like some catastrophe will happen if i don;t foll instructions!)

I didn't bother. Just use card reader, transfer images to my PC.

Actually, bundled software is useful or not? hmm.gif

If not i will uninstall it to free some hdd and cpu resource and use memory card reader to transfer pics.. sweat.gif
