Can someone tell me what is the roles of Gini? He is nowhere to be seen in the middle, often see him at the front asking for the ball, but did absolutely nothing ans remain invisible for most of the time.

Wijnaldum defenders will point to the excuse that he is a midfielder who recycles possession, the boring invisible cog in the middle. But in truth, he has the least touches among all our midfielders, by a large gap too. So he is not getting his touches in midfield, he is not scoring nor assisting in front, he is not a good defensive midfielder at the back, what does he do really? If all we needed was a body with stamina who can keep pressing we didn't need to spend 25m did we?

I dont see him recycle any balls at all. All i can see today is he keep on stay at the front despite being a midfilder, or was he an attacking midfielder? Did not help out much at the middle nor defensive. Matip often only have Hendo and fullbacks to pass to, a few times he even need to goes to the front to looks for someone to pass to. And to my surprise, its Sturridge who create spaces and receive the ball from Matip, so what is Gini doing actually?

Lets hope benitez doesnt unleash the gayle force lol, newcastle can just hoof the ball and beat our defenders easily
