I have 2 years working experience but totally no experience in data analytic. I really wish to explore into this field and hence currently i am doing free online training from IBM Cognitive Class site. Just hope after finish the training and gain some basic understanding about big data then able to get a job that I desire. Finger crossed. Hmm..

Hey guys!

I'm a Consultant specializing in IT recruitment. I've been working on multiple Data Analytics roles lately and I noticed a sudden hike in terms of hiring for this area of expertise.

From what I've gathered, the talent pool for this is quite limited. The skillsets are niche as well.

What are your thoughts on Data Analytics? Do we forsee a massive advantage for those who specialize in this?

Would love to know your thoughts! smile.gif

One question, what do you know and differences between data engineer, scientist & analytic?

Hi. I have just chose my major degree in Data science. Just want to know after graduating, can I work as data analysis or anything related with that without programming works? I'm very weak in programmings, but somehow I have enrolled in this course cause its demand in future. Is it a must to know programmings work in data analytics?

I am not in IT but need to know basic programming to manage data scientists who do customisation of our data mining, sorting and storing.

Everyone will expect data analyst to know programming.

Cant imagine a data analyst not able to do coding. You need SQL to massage your data, you need SAS/R to derive models or any statistical inference, you need VBA to autonmate your reports. So a data analyst/modeller must be confortable with coding.

Just interested to know what are the companies in Malaysia that hire data scientist now? most of the companies hire data anaylst, not really into analyzing data but more to data preparation and generating reports or maybe just to the extend of building dashboards.
