Have an autistic son who is now 7 year old.

Was diagnosed back when he was 3. Typical symptoms e.g. no verbal communication/eye-contact/obsession with symbols.

He started to speak at 6. Speaking is a skill he has to consciously learn, unlike normal kids. At 7, our biggest concern is his emotional outburst (which began go manifest some months after 6 y.o.).
