I think Malaysia gonna have a long queue like the days we seen in the iPhone 4/4S days for the iPhone X. The price is irrelevant.

The swipe away to home screen is definitely Samsung's. But damn when Samsung follow Apple it sucks aka haptic feedback. I play with S8 one versus my iPhone 7 I really can't help myself not to

Yup, and don't forget their crappy upgrade. Don't expect latest OS from Samseng for any devices more than 2 years old.

The Touch ID has failed on me a lot of times. I can't bother counting. But the Face ID looks pretty serious with three sensors in all...and it even comes with Machine Learning which makes a whole level of complexity.

Anyway, time will tell but what I know is it is definitely not gimmicky like Android's facial recognition.

I will say this is one of the advantage for Apple on being both software and hardware.

What pros and cons are you talking about. the iPhone X has not even shipped yet.

TouchID behind glass can probably be seen in devices as early as next year. If nothing goes wrong I bet P11 and S9 will have it first.

Face unlock is more like a gimmick. It shares the same functionality like Facebook tagging. Iris tagging imo is like taking a picture and then matching a picture. However, Face ID is the real deal. Apple dared to linked it with Apple Pay. This is equivalent to cryptography, you won't let it be use unless you're sure it is 100% secure.

In the USA, that's massive lawsuits at hand...lol. Anyway, the phone is not out yet. Apple could remove the link with Apple pay and save their ass then.

Anyway I understand where you're getting at. Face unlock/iris scanner is not so much of a problem when the phone is in your pocket and you take it out to check something. However, most of the time we check our phone when it is face flat on the table (the power of touch id) and we would never lift our phone up unless we really need to reply to something.

You are not entirely neutral when u say u would adapt to Samsung's back fingerprint placement but not to iPhone X Face ID. You're obviously harping on iPhone X without the touch ID and not letting it go. Forget about my other post about not lifting it up since Samsung has theirs at the back.

Like you yourself already said (on samsung back fingerprint scanner) other people's cons is a pros to you. Therefore, if Touch ID is so important to you, why don't you just let this thread go. Subjective opinions are subjective. Besides, you're talking about it so negatively. What is this about just to let potential buyer to know despite not owning the phone yet? What do you know that we already don't know?

Ok. IMO, FaceID could be better than TouchID since TouchID doesn't work very well. But the keynote fails so it is still not a 100% thing.

But anyway, fingerprint don't really work very well especially for old people or people who does hard labor. Face ID is still the way forward whether you like it not.

Ya, like wireless charging. A true standard. I am kind off hoping there will be a biometric standard. Don't care which side won really but it has to be so good it overrides all. Since right now Samsung is towards Iris and Apple towards FaceID, it could be like HD-DVD vs Bluray showdown in the days.

I am not jumping on the X as I just bought 7 this May. I will be looking at three years before changing to any phone.

The notch is like the Samsung Edge series now no more. Looks good on paper but kind of sucks elsewhere. Then again Apple has the muscle to force developers to utilize the notch. At the moment there's much to be seen whether it is truly crap or not but IMO, it is a resounding yes. Lol

Don't worry lol. It just allows the camera to see in the dark. Infrared itself is the heat generated by the body.
