hi, noob question here. im "used to" be a guitar player few years back tongue.gif ,

im own a Maton electric guitar (Mastersound i think) and a marshall amp. i want to play some nu-metal now, so i try to tune my guitar to drop D or B, but i found the guitar string was loose on that tone, how did you guys tune ur string without loosing ?

Btw, im want to play the song "wait&Bleed" by slipknot now, and possibly some other numetal in Drop D or B.

issit possible my guitar to play such song ?

if not, what guitar is recommend ? im think the Ibanez RG MTM2 quite cool, can i found in KL ?

im not using a effect b4, what should i buy ?

thanks.

Get a 7-string. Then you won't have to downtune to B... tongue.gif

And you can join the 7th Sanctuary right here in LYN... biggrin.gif thumbup.gif tongue.gif

Actually, That's very true.... but you have to learn how to play the guitar in a whole new way.

Ibanez makes some REALLY good guitars for Drop tunings..... Slipknot, Korn, all the pioneers uses Ibanez.

Actually, not really. Your power-chords will still be in the same shape and all, and the extra width of the neck adds a bit more oomph to the tone.

Ibanez makes some REALLY good 7-string guitars... tongue.gif

im not a "master" la... if i carry a 7 string and play, i afarid get laughed by others  tongue.gif  biggrin.gif  . btw, howmuch normally a 7 string ibanez cost ?

No need to be a master la... ppl won't laugh at you, they'll stand in awe of your courage and bravery in wielding the mighty 7-string beast! wink.gif laugh.gif

price of ibanez 7-string depends on the model you're looking for... I think there's an MIK or MII 7-string (RG7321?) that should be below RM2k...

7-string FTW!

And price-wise, you can definitely get one cheaper (way cheaper) than the MTM1... unless you're going for the Universe!! lolz...

Anyway, it's not that much harder to play. The fretboard is wider, but not necessarily thicker... e.g. Ibanez 7-strings have very thin necks.

The wide fretboard won't be a problem because the extra width is for the low B string. If you're playing the first 6 strings (i.e. EADGBE), it's no different than a regular 6-string guitar in terms of accessibility.

And one of the great things about a 7-string is that you can play all the heavy as h3ll sh!t in B and still be able to play regular stuff in standard E tuning.

Whereas if you get a 6-string, you'll have to tune up and tune down to switch from low B tuning to standard E etc... which will screw your action, intonation etc...
