If you want great picture, you should go for either OLED (which is LG famous for) or QLED (or so called SUHD - Super UHD). If for normal UHD, LG is not the best I would say. You can read review from Europe or the US. Mostly for LCD the 3 big name is Samsung, Sony, Panasonic. For OLED, LG has headstart and being the big manufacturer of OLED screen, Panasonic and Sony are buying OLED panel from LG. Well, screen is and picture quality is different story

QUOTE(poizan @ Dec 11 2021, 10:27 AM) Hi all, can advise which is a better option: 1) Samsung A9000 65 inch 2) Sony X85J 65 inch My requirements are the TV needs to support Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision and preferably can play Netflix from the TV app and get Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. Thanks. Why want a Dolby Vision? Dolby Vision isn’t necessarily supported on all displays. While HDR10 is an open standard that can be used by any creator or display manufacturer for free, Dolby Vision is a closed format that requires creators and manufacturers to work with Dolby and pay royalties.

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Dec 15 2021, 09:51 AM) dolby vision content if done correctly, is night and day compared to just hdr10 if can afford a tv that support dynamic metadata, go for it. its worth it. But when it comes to material, the open platform vs royalty pay, it probably hard for Dolby to compete as time goes on. HDR10+ is moving to close the gap. Unless the TV price that support Dolby Vision + HDR are about the same as tv that support only HDR
