Glad to hear that part of your problems have gone. Wait until you get to Outlands. Then the latency will shoot up.

I notice one thing about tracerts. To do it, you cannot be downloading anything in the background and not do anything either. Else you'll run into the problems that you're facing i.e. by 3rd hop, it's timeout.

Oh, and don't run BitTorrent in the background. The lag would increase.

You can also try using this program as an alternative to the tracert command in MSPrompt. http://www.d3tr.de

And since you have experienced with WoW China, you should be familiar with the different lag spikes in different zones.

Which server are you on now?
