I guess that's the entry level model as it didn't mention much on the DAC used for the conversion. Of course, for the price, who will complain. Hopefully, the higher end models are below RM4K nod.gif

I guess it won't be available in Malaysia yet unless they have rolled out all the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players and softwares here. Heard that Speedy Videos will be bringing in those HD goodies but they're holding back their decision as the current local Blu-Ray player from Sony retails at RM4,999. So to get more people to buy, they really have to lower their price to an acceptable range first.

but but we do have PS3 or XBox 360 owners with HD DVD add on who are willing to buy those disks though wink.gif

Well, PS3 is just an average blu-ray player according to What Hi-Fi UK, it suffers from motion judder. As for XBOX 360, it doesn't output uncompressed audio signals via HDMI. So both are flawed but can be used to watch these next-gen discs but honestly, if you didn't know, PS3 and XBOX 360 consumes more power than your big LCD tv, these consoles use 200 watts - 250 watts when in operation. sweat.gif Not a good ideal in my opinion.

Only Nintendo Wii runs less than 40 watts in operation but it can't even play normal dvds out of the box. doh.gif

Most amps, displays and other Hi-Fi components are power hungry these days. sweat.gif

Solar lamp or heater maybe lah, Solar generator for such items, I guess the solar panels are even more expensive than a 100 inch plasma tv.
