Anyone facing problem with the Google Assistant speech output? I can get the "ok Google" to answer via text display but can't get the speech output to work.

As above, a few other Mi A1 users can't get the speech output to work.

Did you use an app to lock the phone instead of using the power button? I faced this problem with another screen lock app, then I change to this particular app now the fingerprint to unlock works.

Not sure whether this has been mentioned in this thread, anybody got contact pictures to show up when making/receiving calls?
Very annoying only blue screen is showing instead of contact pictures.

Already added to favorites and the pictures appear in the favorites screen, but not when making/receiving calls.
Only blue screen appears, especially annoying when receiving calls where you should know who's calling but just glancing at the picture.

yes I'm using the stock contacts app that comes with the phone. It's disappointing to know that the Mi A1 Dialer and Contacts are the AOSP versions, not the official Google versions - defeats the purpose of buying "stock" android phone.
I hope the next update fixes this issue so that I don't need to have two contacts apps on my phone.

After owning several Samsung note series and still using the nexus 9 tablet, I will never go back to buying bloated phones ever again.Those stupid preinstalled apps/features that I never or seldom use hogging the phone. Stock Android is pure bliss to me, the Mi A1 just feels super responsive.

Furthermore the Mi A1 is like one quarter of the price of Samsung flagships, making it super value for the money. Therefore the very few downsides of the Mi A1 seem to be minor considering the value and overall user experience.

I would rather pay a bit more buying from a trustable seller with good reviews/ track record than taking a risk.

I'm liking the Oreo update very much. The big battery percentage, the notification dots. Very nice

Mine already updated since yesterday morning.

This problem suddenly appears on mine this morning, didn't appear previously the past 2 days of using oreo.
Persistent location icon in status bar even though location already turned off. Hopefully the next update will come very soon to solve this eyesore.

Please include FAQ section on the 1st page, because some new users kept asking the same questions like where to buy TG & casing, whether MiA1 has gps issues etc
