Hardware Webcam for Powerbook

Any own a webcam for powerbook? I recently bought Genius Look 316 but shows solid black on the screen. It works fine on pc. i suspects it is not compatible with mac even the packaging stated Mac OS 10.4 okay. rclxub.gif pls advise!!

Not all the webcam is compatible with Apple. Have to check the site for the driver or compatiblity but I know certain model of Logitech does support apple but mostly are high end. Good luck mate

Why dont u get Isight instead. Firewire and damn cool

Hmm wait I think it might be working. Get a good driver for it. I use macam(search Google for it) and it works with my cheapo(no brand at all) webcam. Try it out

Yup macam is good. But most likely it can't support iChat. Should work on Skype.

eh tsukasa, I work for MacAsia... and i can't guarantee stock of iSight.
the TS best bet is to bring his Mac along to a large computer store, and test the cameras they have there.

thanks all for the valuable advises smile.gif .. i'd tried Macam but it didn't work, showing nothing at all on screen. i guess i have to go to the store with my powerbook..

hi all, i went to the store and found out it was actualy the faulty of the webcam itself. Genius Look 316 is working on mac and i just exchanged with a new 1. thanks all for help! smile.gif)
