the thing is that i seet my phone to GPS only, still the problem will happened. some how i think it does kinda impact the GPS signal..
*
GPS only is damn slow one, takes 3-5 minutes to get any sort of lock (and only works with good GPS, you're using a Xiaomi which normally have terrible GPS).

EDIT: Wah just saw your video. Jia lat that's a horrible problem. Try another sim card?

Not trying to "cheat" them. Actually looking for better alternatives to my current lousy Streamyx service and was thinking since i am their user tempted to give their broadband a try. And while at it, since my home network is already setup to the current wifi router which i just bought and have this dongle port, maybe i can fully utilize this feature.

Btw, hotspot way means data is counted differently and not from the allocated quota, i.e. 12GB for their rm68 plan?

another questions is if i tether from my phone and more than one device is connected, is this also considered hotspot?

sorry for my noob questions.
*
Hotspot is whenever a different device is using the data (not the phone or modem the SIM card is in). The data is counted differently for some telcos/plans (starting from webe) including u mobiles plans.

just ported over from Maxis to the U28 plan. a few days ago. but already says that 60% of my voice quota is used up. sleep.gif

is it time sensitive? like if i dont use it, it will just burn? so even i dont use it, end of the month, my minutes habis anyways?
*
They pro-rate the voice (but not the data). So if you ported on 20th of the month, you'll have 66% used up immediately.

Minutes don't carry over, and next month Jan 1st you'll have the full voice quota.

If you're one of those lucky ones who got good reception for U, it's still one of the best values out there. Used it on 5 different numbers for years, but now left 2 only, 3 ported out to Digi because data cannot move!

Did anyone use u mobile p99 ?
I am currently using Digi 100 ..
Is P99 speed better than Digi 100 ?
*
QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Jan 3 2018, 10:34 AM)
Of course not.
*
Actually.... depends your location. For me Digi definitely much better than U line, but there are some places where U is better.

Buy prepaid and test only, no need to ask so much. Even if someone says your taman is good/bad, who knows your particular house different?

Guys, does this way work?

I'm currently in oversea and I don't have time to go UMobile center to terminate my U28 line.

If i suspend my line for more than 60 days, does it get automatically terminated?
*
Suspend your line? What do you mean?

If you mean by not paying bill and get suspend, this will get you blacklisted, and you'll have to pay off the unpaid amounts to get off blacklist.

*
Do you have credit? Last time I remember when credit is 0.00 even 'free call' will not go through, need at least 1 cent.

How the internet speed of U Moblie
Just went to the store and change my plan from maxis to Umobile P99
to get the unlimited date without speed limitation.

Process will done within 1 day.
Hope to get good feedback to further assure my decision
haha

If I were you I would cancel the MNP. Never do MNP without testing using a prepaid line. U Mobile congestion is seriously bad in the places I go to, used it for years and then gave up. No point unlimited data when you can't even load webpage.

There are still areas in Klang Valley where it's usable. That's why it's important to test first! For me (working area surrounded by students) it's unusable.

Umobile only on certain area usable but majority are are pain in the ass.
So it a roller coaster the monent you sign up.
*
Depends where you go. Most of us would only really be in 2-3 locations most of the time (home, office, maybe gym or certain place we like to go to eat).

I have two family members who use u mobile and no complaints about speed or connectivity. They go to very different places from me though. Myself and wife gave up on U mobile after months of crappy speed in our locations.

Best is always to buy prepaid and test.

How do I check if my UMobile sim is still usable after it has passed the topup period? I think i have stopped topup for more than 1 year. My previous working place has almost zero coverage so I let it lapse. I used to use it for my tablet only for the purpose of surfing web only.
*
No way it's still usable, just get a new sim.

Then after successful port in, what will happen to the advance payment?
*
You will need to go to U mobile service center and give them your bank account details for refund. They will not remind you about this.

And then they'll tell you 90 days.

And then got chance someone will forget or make mistake and you'll never get it so you'll have to go back to SC and complain.

How is coverage in Bangi , Kajang , and Kuala Lumpur ?
*
You shouldn't ask this question, but not for the butthurt reason below. It's just unlikely that anyone can give you a reliable answer, for this telco or for any other.

E.g. reception could be good for me in my house but bad for my neighbour two doors down. Really depends on luck.

Get a pre-paid card and test.

QUOTE(MakNok @ Mar 4 2018, 12:22 PM)
You should not have ask this question at all..
Umobile are famous for speed capping.

No need to know those location.
Get other telco...Umobile ..you will regret Big Time.
*
If u mobile has decent reception and not much congestion, its fine. Low probability of that depending where you are (that's why must test) but it works for some people....

For postpaid, the GX50 plan at RM50/month gives you unlimited data for all apps and it comes with unlimited calls to all networks. Also included is 5GB of free hotspot data.

For prepaid, the GX30 plan comes with unlimited data for all apps at RM30/month. Calls are not included but you do get 3GB of hotspot data.

translations : for mobile used only, limited tethering quota.
*
Considering almost all the RM30 plans are around 3-5GB total (whether hotspot or mobile usage) this isn't too bad.

Put it the other way, what price do other telcos give you 3GB for? E.g. Digi (closest pricewise) RM30 a month prepaid gives you 3 GB data and some free calls. This RM30 plan doesn't give you calls, gives you the same amount of data (just for tethering), and adds on unlimited app data for your mobile use.

Of course the real story isn't price, but network quality....
