If the gal likes listening to music at home can get her a bluetooth speaker. UE Roll can be brought into showers to listen to music.
This is what i bought for my wife whom likes to listening to music while she takes her long showers or bathtub session.
For TS it all depends on the hobby and interest of the gal.

I found an online store that sells personalised mugs, trinkets, etc. They also sell like custom jewelry with your name on it and stuff. Reasonably priced as well.

Im still following this thread to see if there are any good ideas though.

I think the comment about not imposing my values when giving a gift is a good point

Flowers & dinner would be the best bet.

Anything more is overkill (since you are a student).

I understand that many girls like the same things.

Flowers, designer handbags, jewelry, etc

However, I take issue with buying such overpriced luxury goods simply for the brand name on the bag, or the box, in the case of jewelry.

Flowers die in the end, and she is the kind who stubbornly refuses to throw them away after decomposition.

Example:

I was looking at Tiffany bracelets. Rm500 for a small charm + bracelet. Cheap silver with plated gold. (Only worth rm50-100 if you buy  brandless, similar charm on Lazada).

I find it tough, as a guy, to pay so much money for a brand name. (My friend owns a gold shop, so i know a lot about true cost of jewelry)

For handbags, girls already have 4-7 of em, I dont want to blow $ just for it to sit in the closet.

I've taken her out to nice dinners, but asides from memories, there is nothing solid for her to remember me by. (I'm going overseas to study, so LDR)

Any suggestions /k?

My idea:
Desiccated flowers?
Nice Bluetooth headphones? <<< leaning towards this
Custom keychain/bracelet/necklace?
Year subscription to netflix?

Budget rm300 or less.. flexible if gift is worth it

Whatever you buy for her didn't serve much purpose. As no matter what, it will still be put away at a spot.

Why not save it, and send her ae gift after you left for a month. With that, you are actually telling her "I miss you", and also reminding her of you.

TS, why don't you make something for her. Like those cubby gifts that you can hand somewhere and open one a month for 12 gifts a year.

I don't think handbags, branded goods, etc (depending on the girl of course) makes the best gifts. Hand made and thoughtful gifts take time and effort and those are the absolute best for me.

Don't ship useless stuff la.
Send her something that is thoughtful. Let say if you can get from Lazada .. a scaft. Then msg her that you want her to stay warm .. so give her a shawl or scaft.. at least when she go cinema with frens, with have that to cover.

Actually she may not need it. But the msg show you caring and thought bout her.

Why I say this. Coz years bk, I gotta travel night bus (8-hours) to my bf's place. He sms me, reminding me to bring sweater so that I won't catch cold in bus.
Hahaha.. the sweater.. I gotta bring myself. But that sms really sweet.
