Suspension won't get better overtime, will only get worst. I change my Saga suspension to performax absorber lately and it perform staight away, so i dun think suspension will need breakin.

As for the road noise, i won't expect it will be good since this is EEV car, so the noise dampening will be almost equal to nil. Please note that i'm talking about dampening, not insulation. Dampening is all about using mass to stop the road roar due to micro vibration transmitted from the suspension to the car body which will increase the car mass and negate the fuel consumption. While insulation mostly using light mass material to insulate high frequency noise such as wind noise and tyre road friction noise. The Axia is suffering road roar in low frequency and this definitely need dampening material to solve. But i won't mod on this aspect because it sure will negate the fuel consumption.

For the handling wise, is not the body roll and suspension that worry me during high speed corner, but the virtually no feedback EPS that do. Even my Logitech gaming wheel giving more realistic road feedback than this EPS did.

Afterall pros and cons observed, but no regret to get this car since it is use to replace the aging Kenari, and the purpose served.

Guys, what is the high beam bulb size for Axia SE headlamp? Don't know why they dun want to print in manual, and damn difficult to find info in google despite the car is popular in Malaysia.

Had a long distance drive with Axia (actually long time thanks to traffic jam) last Sunday came back from Segamat to JB.
Known from Waze the highway was jammed, so just took trunk road all the way and took me around 3.5 hours. So here is my 'revised' review:

1. Last time i said the engine was under power below <60km/h. The fact is the under power perception is mainly due to the lazy tranny. Understood the car is tuned towards EEV, the gearbox shifting point is too early when it detect very light throttle. Scenario was you follow a car at 40-50km/h and you wait a chance to overtake, however due to light throttle, the gear already shift to 4th gear with RPM hover around 1200-1300rpm only. Finally you found the chance and you press the throttle and hope for rocket overtake, OMG, the gearbox took more than 1 second to downshift, so the chance wasted. Morale of the story, always manual override using the stick, when you see the chance, shift to 'L2' for less than <60km/h or 'L3' around 80km/h, press the throttle and i can get the acceleration power almost similar like my 1.3 manual Saga BLM. (almost similar power to weight ratio). Engine is very 'smooth' if you press the throttle politely, and shift shock is almost non existent.

2. Fuel consumption is exceptional. Trunk road from Segamat until Yong Peng without much traffic cruising at around 80-90km/h got AVG 22.5km/L. When reached Yong Peng and all the way down to Kulai afterwards, the traffic jam was so bad, the total time stuck in stop-go traffic jam was slightly more than an hour, but at the end i still manage to get AVG 19.8km/L, consider damn good in fact the engine just clocked <1000km ODO.

3. Road noise remained unchanged, bad, especially at the back. Somehow the front wiper is very loud when operate, the motor movement is so strong until i can feel it shakes the car.

4. Aircond temperature at minimum and 2nd step differ too much. Sometimes set to 2nd step was too cold, but once switch down to minimum i just felt suffocated due to the aircond compressor kickin interval is too long.

5. My wife sat at the back accompanied my daughter feel back strain after reached home, haha. Expected what.

Ha ha ha all are ready stock this week. Agent is just waiting for my decision which one to get. That's why need advice. Is the multimedia system worth it for additional 3K?
*
Get the SE and replace the all four stock speakers to 2 way coaxial (if you don't want component) with stock player will give you a wow effect. The stock speaker IMO just too bad, full range paper cone, especially the front, 1st glance the size is similar like the rear speaker, but look at it carefully it just a 4-5 inch bracket with tiny 3 inch driver. The sound is so muddy and no clarity at all.

mine 1 auto axia g spec no vvti  go normal mountain macam not happy to rev sad.gif

Whether got VVTi or not for 1000cc engine don expect it can climb hill in 2-3k rpm. Put at 2nd gear and rev constantly at 4k is unavoidable.

For me the VVTi in Axia is for fuel save, not for greater power. No VVTi = normal 1000cc engine, VVTi kickin = fuel saving = worst power than normal 1000cc engine.

Poor Axia not even 3 months or 1st service, hit by reversed Almera...hopefully they can change the door panel rather than knock to restore.

Door can't open now.

Hi guys, any aftermarket washable aircond filter for Axia? The ori paper filter will clogged easily in 3-4k and the airflow will be restricted. Keep changing it is not cheap in long run. Just wonder is there any washable filter like those drop in air filter for engine.

Hello bros...have anyone here change your engine oil by yourself?

Planing to do it to my axia...any tips or do's/dont't before I start?

Cheers cheers.gif

Curious any benefit for doing so? Labour outside mostly RM15-20, why hassle to DIY? Nowadyas the engine design is no longer cater for easy DIY oil change, look at how the oil filter located in the Axia engine and i bet you won't even want to change it urself.

My initial thinking was maybe I get better grip on the road thus better performance. My mom vios actually recommends lower pressure tyre at the rear. 2 weeks rear tyre experiment doesn't seem to gain me anything, tomorrow will bump back to 37psi and continue 2 weeks monitoring.

Very seldom drives highway. I belong to the religion who believe in brake less. Meaning I try not to accelerate too much in the city, which result in non aggressive brakes. tongue.gif
Currently using petronas. Mesra card is giving 5x bonus if spend more. biggrin.gif
Citicard also give 10% CB.

I'll remove the shield 2 weeks later after the tyre pressure up.

37psi? Can't imagine that as i just deflated my tyre to 30psi only, can't stand the bumpy and noisy ride above that.

I can confirmed my Axia the same too. The EPS is just too tight and returned force is weak, so it won't back to center if you just turn a little bit to right/left

hmmm... should try as i already have installed TC with me. mind to share how you test? with OBD2
*
No, using ur mobile phone and install drag racer app will do. It will use ur GPS to track your 0-100 and auto calculate the time and graph. Well, those who rely on the car odo meter is likely to get 13s because the meter is 10km/h slower than actual speed, so you reach target speed in lesser time. Has been use this app to try for Vios and Teana, quite accurate i would say. Just for fun only haha, saw the youtube Axia 0-100 at 13-14s, but using odo meter that's why.

It pretty simple to operate, stop ur car, you see will the font turn green and ask you ready to start when it reach 0km/h, once u start, it will auto count, no need to operate a single button. But like i say, make sure you reach 110km/h in ur odo meter before u back off to ensure GPS speed exceed 100km/h in order to complete the test.

Guys, is the door handle broken easily a common issue for Axia?

2nd year the driver side handle broke, now 3rd year right rear broken, the worst thing is the door with child lock latched, it means the door can't be opened from outside and inside. How the repairer going to open the door for repair? Fucking poor quality

Hello guys, need some advice.

I'm sad to say I accidentally cracked one of my rear lights while reversing  cry.gif So I guess no choice I have to change new one.

So I would like to change original Perodua part, does anyone have experience on this? Do I just contact Perodua service centre and tell them I want to change a lamp?

So far a quick search at shopee shows price ranging from RM100 - RM200, but seems like they are all 3rd party parts.

It depends on whether you bother the cosmetic crack or not. You can leave it as it is if the water isn't seep in. You can ask perodua service center for it
