RM3k?
Just the cost of cables and interconnects alone most probably. |

I received my QED cables on Monday, shipped on December 3.
A little longer than the usual 7 days. Remember guys, this is holiday season. The mail office is very busy, give it a few days. Please don't write a complain yet, they could stop shipping to Malaysia if there's too much troubles. |

For HDMI cables more than 3m, I would get something from a more well-known brands. It's not just about digital anymore, but at longer length it becomes signal strength issues instead.

Got yourself the Orbs ar? I browsed through their website before, but couldn't find it to audition here so don't know how it sounds.
Please give your reports here. How does it compare to the KEF eggs? |

I'm using 3 of the KEF egss (HTS2001) as my surrounds (6.1 setup). Still looking for a 4th one to make it a 7.1 setup, so hard to find. They're small (with 4" uniQ driver), but after a movie, my friends couldn't believe the surround sound was coming from these small speakers, they thought it must be some bookshelves.
These Orbs are supposed to have the same quality, but I think they're from US, not Europe. But I don't recommend them to be used as the fronts and center, those three fronts must have bigger drivers because they're the most important anchor to carry the movie's sound. I use the KEFs as surrounds because I want to wall-mount them easily, bookshelves will be very hard to do that. The surrounds are supposed to be about 1 foot higher than your ears. While the fronts must be at your ear height. |

QUOTE(mpyw @ Dec 24 2008, 11:12 AM) they can use as front also by multiplying the Mods Bro, what is the lowest frequency the speaker can go? Can't seem to find it on the website. check their website here www.orbaudio.com for all configuration.....if u wanna use it as whole system, I strongly recommend a good sub to go with it as limitation of small speakers cannot go too low.... |

QUOTE(mpyw @ Dec 24 2008, 12:48 PM) listed as 80Hz Yup, don't set it too high. Actually some say anything above 80Hz can be localized already. Subwoofer are not supposed to be able to localized. We should never be able to locate the subwoofer if the settings are all correct.but I set my cross over at 100Kz from the forum, most are recommended for either 100Hz or 120Hz, but some did go for 150Hz but afraid the sub can be localized.... If the Orbs can handle down to 80Hz, you can safely set at 90Hz. But if sounds best at 100Hz, why not then. |

timothyy, write an email to FutureShop, tell them the situation. If you're lucky, they will tell you to keep it. This way you'll get to keep the extra cable with their blessings.
If not, they will instruct you how to return, and I"m sure they'll bare the postage cost. Whatever it is, it pays to be honest, always. |

QUOTE(megatron007 @ Feb 5 2009, 02:44 PM) Me too, though nothing much to showcase. Nanti malu, considering how those pics I saw here looks like reaching RM50k, the owner still starts his post with "My peasant setup". Guess my post will start with "My super-peasant setup." The RM50k was just a put on, a guess. I was not referring to any post in particular, don't even remember who posted. But the post was real, I remember reading it and looking at the pictures, starting the post with "My peasant setup". Too lazy to search, but I think almost everyone claims his setup is "peasant".

My BD collection nowhere near 200 lah, on Tun Mega maybe reaching 300 already. Got new teebee and player, but it's still just 1% of many elites' total budget. |
