Just so happens I'm in the market to replace an old desktop hdd with ssd. So naturally, can only go with sata ssd, unless I can invest in a pcie riser card or something else to use m2 ssd.

Seems like there are still quite a lot of options available for normal 2.5 in ssd drives. Prices are quite cheap.

So want to ask you all, anyone tried Silicon Power ssd? The price is quite cheap right now... $90 for 1TB... I'm not familiar with this brand. My ssd had been mostly sandisk, with one cb from kingston a400 and crucial (m2).

No need for super super fast speed for me, since this desktop will end up being sold off and people here don't really have appreciation for Samsung pro vs (insert economy brand) - ie the selling price for the desktop would be the same regardless of the ssd brand inside. So I guess I'm aming for the cheapest possible but still need to be sufficiently reliable.
