Parking on the new SSD V6 thread. biggrin.gif

Just wondering, if RM500 budget, best bang for buck could get right now is Samsung EVO 850 256GB right?

Second question, what to check when buying a refurbished (or possible used but not refurb) of SSD?

Dear all sifus, I can't decide between wd blue and samsung 850 evo. I did some research on both m.2 ssd, most of them recommend the evo but the wd blue is slightly cheaper . I only use my laptop for light gaming like dota and Microsoft apps. So if I buy 850 evo will it be overkill for my daily usage?

Capacity and price you found? Evo have longer warranty iinm.

Price for wd blue is around 470 onwards while 850 is 500 give or take.
*
Given the price are so small different, the WD Blue have 3 years warranty and the Samsung Evo have 5 years warranty. For sure go for Samsung.

nice smile.gif

it's 28s on mine. not fresh; many hardware.
sweet hehe

if you used romex primocache you can get even crazier numbers (for fun only; in real life, rapid mode is just as good for our usage lol)

you should apply OP (at least the recommended value), to prevent potential slowdown when the disk is almost full.
*
So more hardware attached to it will make it boot longer right?

My laptop only shown 3.8 seconds for BIOS booting up while my desktop shown 13.0 seconds so I thought my desktop was not normal lol.

didn't know that yours are even longer than mine.

sifus sekalian, need some advice:

120gb ssd for desktop usage...between kingston A400 and liteon MU3, which one is recommended ?
liteon MU3 seems to have higher read/write performance against kingston A400..

thanks

Get whichever cheaper or warranty claim easier for you.
At the end of the day,
1. It is SSD and faster than most HDD (feel like day and night)
2. Like above said, entry level are all the same anyway.

yeah, generally speaking. however it's still depends on what you're looking for: performance or capacity that is.

well, pretty sure SSD over HDD anytime if going for fast response PC like fast booting, fast open up some program/games etc..

is it okay if I buy this? because the read and write is same, maybe cheaper because of brand or reliability?
