This happens to my brother, I knew he had too much WoW when:

For my own, I know I had too much WoW when:

I woke up in the morning in my bedroom and my first thought was: "Am I in Kalimdor or the Eastern Kingdom?"

you need to grind some rep with her man

grind rep with boss at work, need exalted, but hard to grind, only 1 rep per week... /sigh

LOL I do that too, when people ask me why am I leaving the game in a weekend I will sometimes say "BF aggro" or "BF summoning"

As general rules, all boss required a raid grp, first u need some of your colleaques to be tank (to get aggro when he tried to propose increment for everyone), and some will be healer (sweat talk to boss and calm him down), then a grp of very good dps required (to backstap the boss and brain wash him we need a raise). After a few raid if the boss not drop your epic and u wipe every raid... Its time for you to change raid instance.

However for gf u need to solo, makesure you go to gym and beach lvl enuf, and buy some great gear (prada) and lots of consumable (movie ticket/ meals voucher). And there is no fix strategy for your when she aggro, because as of today we find that she had 1,000,000 of random attack when aggroed, sometime she shoot water from her eyes that crits you 10k damage per second which u need some rare jewelery to counter that, others will drop aggro just by show up on time...

I'm thinking of getting a 8800 card but I'm hearing lots of horror stories about it running WoW.

did nvidia ever release an upgraded driver for 8800? or the 8000 series in general? and what's AA?

and aa = anti aliasing, its called multisampling in WoW (a rather toned down ver. of AA)

8800gts 320 mb and running wow. Works fine except for the AA in windows mode - wow window will freeze when I alt-tab out to something else - it's not a big problem because it resumes when i alt-tab back. Otherwise, no problems.

If you've just started a job, seriously, if you can't afford it, then don't buy it. Esp when all you're getting is a luxury gaming machine. In my close to 10 years of working and living independently, I take quite a lot of pride in never running home to mommy when i needed a new toy. Jeez kids of today..

Not gotten a single penny since I started working tbh, and i didn't have the luxury of staying at home either. And since then I've bought a lot of silly things i know i shouldn't have from ipods, to game consoles, alienware pcs, self built pcs and tons of software which were just pure indulgence. I think I just know better to save asking money from folks for when I actually NEED it.

At the end of the day how you spend your money is your own business. Most self build enthusiasts apart from wanting the most powerful pc also balance their pew pew ness with getting the most bang for their buck as most of them have to self finance.

I'm glad you're happy with your pc, I really am. So why should you care what anyone else thinks. Seems like you're asking for the approval of your peers by flashing your e-peen on these forums. If you don't care if I'm impressed why are you asking if i'm jealous?
