11:35: This Diego Costa to Fenerbahce story is gaining momentum.

Turkish reports earlier claimed that Fenerbahce had made an official bid for Costa, and hope to complete the deal before their transfer window slams shut tomorrow night.

Istanbul-based newspaper Hurriyet now say the Spanish talisman is scheduled to fly to Turkey later today and complete a medical before signing his contract.

Hurriyet suggest the transfer will be a season-long loan, but NtvSpor’s Onur Tugrul claim Costa has agreed to a six-month spell with Fenerbahce.

Regular first-team football will put Costa in contention for Spain’s 2018 World Cup squad.

Some reports said Chelsea will pay some of his salary

The wantaway Blues striker was pictured yesterday in his hometown of Lagarto in north-east Brazil.

He stopped to chat to children before parking his Mercedes SUV in his garage.

Costa wanted a move to Atletico Madrid in the summer, after Antonio Conte told him by text that he was no longer part of the plans at Stamford Bridge - but the transfer failed to materialise before the deadline.

The forward had left another of his cars, a white Range Rover, in the Chelsea training ground car park, but it has now been towed away - and his locker has reportedly been cleared out.

shorter transfer period will cause transfer fee increase
clubs that sell players after window closed cannot buy players and no reinforcement

not to mention that our board likes to do panic buy after league begins, especially on the deadline day

All club have zero chances to test how squad would preform.
Currently everyone have at least 3 games to test.
Another problem is released clause n the player once the windows close other club activate the release clause and force to sell the player but unable to buy replacement.
Unless epl making it unable to sell player it would be huge handicap for epl.
It would also effect the competitiveness of epl club in champion league.
