I was dead wrong the moment reached there, stating not here bla bla bla, arguing start and he don't even know his friend location, asking which hospital name, landmark also cannot spell out, i asked him to get down at Aeon Bukit Raja and ask your friend to pick him. He still don't want to get down, ok after talking with his friend through phone for 10min and only get to know his location is at SIME DARBY BUKIT RAJA area, behind the columbia hospital industrial area. It was 8km away and i asked him to top up RM8 to make it RM50 fare, the toll is RM5, so total is RM55, he agreed with the fare. When reached there, he just give me RM50, still short of RM5 and he say no money left, i was like ok i'll report to Grab after this, no point arguing with passenger to protect myself. Amend the fare to RM45, toll RM5 and total RM50.
The lesson here is, when u see it is 3rd party booking and tag wrong drop off location, ask them to leave to avoid problem, a lot rider account suspended and they resort to use their friend account to book nowadays, even mapren also same. With the surcharge, it is really hard to re-quote fare and make them agree, they can just spin and saying driver cheating them.
I also nowadays scared when getting third party booking. I start to check now if incoming phone call, whether the number match the app call number, if no match my shield go up as I know this third party booking must keep on short leash.
otoh sometimes it's understandable third party, eg they call for parents or hotel call for guests. most of the time these cases will tell you up front it's third party.
what to do if customer refuse to get down when you ask them to leave? like your case, how would you have forced him out? maybe call CS in front of him? or say you will call police?
also yesterday was my first and last time doing job at serdang raya area, too many low quality riders. only reason I try there is because I thought can get Sea games business.
