Core i9-7900X
ROG Rampage VI Apex
G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 2x8GB + DDR4-4266 2x8GB

Maximum OC? 4.5GHz on all 10 cores... I think this is the highest AIDA64-stable OC that my 7900X is able to deliver for now...

4.6GHz is stable on Cinebench R15 but instantly hit 105C mark in AIDA64 Stability Test:

How about some SPi fun with the mixed Hynix+Samsung B-Die RAM kits? ...

Accidentally bought another two stick of DDR4-4266 to make them Quad-channel. As we know, these memory kits have not been validated using the ROG Rampage VI Apex, so they will not run at the specified frequency of DDR4-4266 MHz. Hence, I decided to apply the DDR4-4000 C17 DRAM OC Profile provided in the UEFI BIOS of Apex.

Tightening up the memory timings down to 16-17-17-41-1T without touching the DRAM voltage (1.40V):

4200 is 50:50 booting into windows with this board. put everything i know on ram timings and it doesnt help.

was curious so testing 4.4/3.2 vs 5/3.4 at 4kc15@1.45v (set) auto third timings. just left the 3600c15 and changed vdimm and ram speed

Nice stuffs as always!

At what RAM timing did you manage to get stability at DDR4-4000 with your kit?

Havent tried stable yet. There seems to be something missing
At 3800c16 i get this 1 error on one thread about copy something every 100% its just weird

Also that run now only i realised i was running the same rtls from 3600c15 at 4kc15.

Aim is 4200. Confident dis board can do it. No apex or r6e needed.

Regret did not get the chance to play higher than 1.4V due to time constraints.

Highest benchable RAM OC at 1.40V, before board is returned to ASUS biggrin.gif
not 100% stable of course
