im about 172 cm and 65kg in weight. anyone got experience in this 2 motor before?

Better you go to the bike shops to sit and feel.
In fact last week a friend of mine did the same. He went to 2 bike shops to sit and get a feel.

I previously rode a KSR and liked it because can easily get parts and can upgrade cc using Takegawa big bore kit.

i would go this weekend to test, but i scared i just impulse buy the Honda because i like the looks more. How's the top speed after upgrading big bore kit? those KSR are carburetor right? What about serviceability of honda? do you have any experience on that? This would be my 1st bike that i buy with my own money, so bike ownership is new to me, never experience any brands in Malaysia except for my family's ex5..


Anyways, I don't think i will touch any performance mods on this bike though. It is just used for commuting to my office, which is like 2 km away, but in the morning with the jam, it takes almost 15 minutes with a car... Hence i am considering a mini bike I'm more poisoned on aesthetic mods though. I just saw 1 MSX modded into a mini cafe racer in Art of speed.. Hnghh

I've test ride Z125 Pro during Art of Speed... and my friend's MSX125. Frankly, the ride and handling not much different for 125cc bike. Nimble and light Some very minor differences. Better for you to go to any bike shop, have a sit on both. Closed your eyes, and buy.... hehehe Or buy both

Spare parts wise, should be no big issue, Kawasaki, you can go to Glenmarie, straight to them. And for Honda, plenty Honda shop too.

6 months ago, I went and checked out these, and one more, Benelli's TNT135. I bought the latter, and it's now got almost 6000km on the clock. Ride to work almost daily (near only, 3km). The high mileage is from taking it for spins after work as I used the bike for practice for bike license. It's my first ever motorcycle, and no problems so far, touchwood.

Why I chose the TNT135 over the MSX and Z125?

1. The handlebar clearance over the knee. I'm 178cm tall, need the clearance to avoid hitting the knee.
2. The number of gears, the TNT135 has 5, the others only 4.
3. Price - TNT 8k, Kawa 9k+, Grom 11k.
4. Looks - this one personal preference, but I especially liked the tail hugger and twin pipes on the TNT. Also, the white colour option highlights the red trellis frame prominently.
5. Displacement - 135cc vs 125cc on the rest.
6. Adjustable rear shocks.
7. Fuel tank 7.2l (250km)

As for max speed, 115kmh tops, then speed limiter kicks in. But vibration on handlebars starts around 100kmh. Drivability wise, I have no previous experience on bikes so I can't compare, but I can say it's hell of a fun bike on its own merits.

As for parts, can order from Segambut KL or Penang (HQ) - SYM M-Force. Original or aftermarket mods can order from Taobao thru local agent but not cheap. Just go to taobao site.

One more thing forgot to mention, these 12in rim bikes will feel everything uneven in its path, so when you test, see if you are ok with the bumps and potholes.

Even if you like the Honda more, it's still a good idea to spend a bit of your time to try the Kawasaki too.
After you try back to back and still decide on the Honda, then by all means, beli jer...


Yes, at that time, the KSR was carb.
Takegawa big bore kit is good for the torque. Top speed not too much but when climbing hills (or overtaking vehicles), you will appreciate it.

My last Honda was the Future, before that Wave Ultimo and Wave S.
Future had lots of QC issues like burnt our tappet O-ring (several times), noisy fairings after 1 year of normal commuting, wooden feeling front brake, etc...
But it's OK la.
Wave Ultimo and Wave S no such problems.

So for MSX, I'm out of touch with the after-sales issues.
Perhaps you can find some online Malay language bike forums or FB owner's page to find out more.

i know you like these bikes but practicality wise better get a scooter or kapcai.

1. ada basket (kapcai)/underseat (scooter) to carry things
2. same speed as those 2 fun bikes
3. can choose semi auto, auto or clutch bikes
4. cheap maintenance
5. spare parts easily available in all bike shops

I also have the same dilemma as u do..

already tested Rhino 125 and benelli TNT 135 ( both are great Fun Bike ) and the price are reasonable.
(due to it brand )

and so i have already tested the K125 pro ,done some research from one website to another..( all the review are and they are no major porb with the K125 pro)


but have not tested yet honda MSX 125.. but has seen it on street..
and so will try to find nearby dealer and tested the MSX first..

Well, my first hand exp with grom, great handling, fuel consumption is about rm 8 ron 97 for 240+km and I like bigger tire and its style and the seating is great. Its all about preferences. I like grom fast acceleration though. I am more burst speed kind of guy than top speed maniac.

any reason for small fun bike? for around the same price, you can get fz150 or y15zr/rs150r. even can get modenas pulsar ns 200/rs 200

Hobby and fun. fz150 or y15zr/rs150r is kapcai or anything under 600cc is kapcai (lvl for me), why not buy a stylish kapcai one instead. I can buy 600cc and above if I wanted to, but i am not a speed maniac guy and usually go offroad adventure when have time, those huge tire help alot. Plus side, if u like attention, those bike is the one. Like honda monkey 125. Its all about preference. Probably will save some money to buy honda rebel for lul/ monkey...ugh... decision..

i have tested both, i feel MSX feel more stable than 124PRO. maybe because of tire size. MSX use wider front tire. I think i will go ahead and get a red MSX

i just like the looks power isn't everything bro. for me, 100kmh is more than enough since my area got like traffic light every 200m. Kapchai like y15 is good, but i just like the look of the MSX

I'm getting Rebel too. Just for fun... Not into speed anymore. Not that young anymore.

yes, it is definitely a looker and head-turner. I like both style but the engine is too small for that price.

Lets go for a Rebel test ride. At Welly Team Cycle. Available for test ride starting coming September.

Was just at Welly Team Cycle Subang, sadly the Rebel not in yet, but they will be doing a demo ride either end September or October near their shop, which they said they'd announce via their FB 2 weeks in advance. The model is a 500cc, comes with ABS tagged at RM 31k+

Also sat on the MSX125 (new colours are blue and purplish). Between the Honda Grom, Kawa Z125 and Benelli's TNT135, I'd still vouch for the TNT135 mainly due to it's design ergonomics which feels closest to a full size naked.

Rebel will come. Sat on it during Art of Speed few weeks ago.

Dang.... missed that event. I'm almost 6ft and I heard the Rebel's seat is pretty low. Anyhow, let's wait n see, I'm in no hurry.

At 6ft, it might be a bit uncomfortable, anyway, I'm waiting for a test ride.

If you are worrying about the clearance between knee and handle bar just change the handle bar and you are good to go. I changed mine and it felt so different, in a good way.

How about KTNS Rhino 125 (Razkull in other markets outside of Malaysia)?
I recently kena poisoned on fun bike and coincidentally I am thinking of getting a Motorcycle license. I am 178 cm, 75 kg. Would look odd to be on fun bike? Thinking of daily driving this to work.

KTNS looks bulkier than the other bikes though.
And at a lower price. Along the 7-8k range.
I think there is an even cheaper alternative, Demak Sprinter....but lol...Demak has shut down.
