Whether it is worth it or not, it's very subjective. Moreover you can't compare the tints since you have to install the tints on your car then only you can compare. In other words, one can only judge on the performance of the tint based on past experiences, specification (TSER) or word of mouth from the forum.

Yes, V-Kool Elite is expensive but so far it's the best tint in terms of heat rejection, in my experience. I have not tried many but have only compared it to the Huper Optik. I switched to Huper Optik when I bought a new car as it is cheaper. Sech 60 and C40. The Huper Optik combination is not as cool as the V-kool. It feels slightly hotter in the car when compared to V-kool. That's not to say Huper Optik is bad. IT is still a good tint but comparatively it just did slightly worse than V-kool. The Huper Optik costs around RM1600+/- for a C-segment, maybe slightly cheaper for a B-segment like the Honda City.

So if you ask me again whether to go with V-kool or any other tint, it's your choice really, whether you are willing to pay extra RM1000 or more to get slightly superior performance. No doubt V-kool's performance in terms of heat rejection is superb but it is costlier than most tints out there. I have not tried other tints such as Raytech, Llumar etc. so no comment there.

Rm 2800 is cheap. Are you sure you went to the genuine dealer? I think tint shop is the dealer. They usually fix the price based the car type instead of the area of glass. They once quoted my Lotus for around 4k even it is 2 windows less. Anyway they still perform better after compare to ecotint top series product, but the difference is not much.

There are at least 2 shops which offer RM1,500 to 1,600 for the Huper Optik Sech60/C40 for a C-segment when I asked. It was more than 4 years ago so the numbers may have changed a bit. One of the shops is in Puchong. The other one I"m not sure but the guy was posting on this forum as well.

In the end I didn't go with either shops though as I had made arrangements with the sales guy whom I bought my new car from for the Huper Optik tint. It was only after few days I got to know that the tint can be bought at a lower price. I ended up paying RM1,700 for the Huper Optik tint (the sales guy might have taken a bit of commission from the sales).

The price of HO depends on what tint to take for the windows. I took all C70 for all 4-windows for normal sedan car, which cost RM2k (a few years ago). If I didn't use C70 for all, but use others, it will be cheaper.

As for Vkool, i used it before. I don't see any difference with the HO C70 in terms of the heat in the car. Same car, different tint cause window broke.

Just don't use 3M tint, cause after time it will have marks.

I spend on wingard royale for accord at 2k. It is with 90% Irr and 60%TSER iirc. Now on the 4th year and it still perform like new. Maybe bcz my car is majority time parking in covered area.
Not sure about comparison with 3M, Raytech or Vkool. Cz at the time of surveying, prefer one with no problem on smart tag, gps or remote gate.

simple answer:

V-Kool overpriced because they were smart on branding their product since the start of tinting era in Malaysia, so now every aunty/uncle know about V-Kool and think they're the best. The same aunty/uncle that think Toyota Vios is the best sub-100k car in the market new/used.

for my opinion, v-kool tint the quality is there. used it for almost 8 years, the films still reject heat well. however the price is the highest of all other brands.
this time decided try other brand to see its performance

Hahaha I've been in plenty of V-kol tinted cars and I honestly think it's really not worth it.
Anyway ok lor, if willing to spend so much just for tinting. I'm just a poor guy driving cheap old car so can only spend 10% of that for tinting. laugh.gif
