Got my upgrade to 100mb activated today, upload is fine at 55mb, download only getting around 70.

They only brought a new router and said new modem wasn't necessary. I assumed they'd be changing modem as the existing one only has 100mb ports rather than gigabit?

Yeah, same case with me, I had to call them to change it and requires me to renew my contract. Guess I'll be sticking to unifi for some time. It'll be a waste the BTU caps your download speed less than 100mb especially if I want to get that extra 14mb without any hiccups.

Hmm that's a bit annoying. I don't mind renewing the contract as I don't see anything else being available here in the for next couple of years

I'll give them a call.

Tried loading up fully with torrents etc and same result as Speedtest - max 70 down, 55 up

On second thoughts - as my router supports dual WAN, could I just connect second LAN port on the modem as a second WAN interface and load balance? just a thought as a temporary solution until modem is replaced

I'm using Edgerouter BTW

guys, mind me asking what modem and router you are using currently for 100mb?
*
I'm using Ubiquiti ER-Lite 3 as a router.

Model is still the old Huawei HG850a (with only 100mb ports) which is why I think I'm not getting full speed.

Checking router settings at the moment to make sure nothing is limiting on that end.

the ubiquiti router is supplied by TM after the upgrade to 100mb?
*
No, that's my own one. It's only a router without Wifi

TM brought the Dlink cylinder one but I didn't connect that

After waiting for over 10 months, finally I gotten the free upgrade today from 50 to 100.

2 technicians come over with a D-Link DIR850L router, but I told them I'm using my own Asus RT-AC68U. So there's no need to change the router.

So they just standard SOP, pluck-in cable do some speed test, update user data system and signing forms. That's it. They say I get the keep the D-Link router as that was my property.

Are you still using the old modem - Huawei HG850A?

Yupe. Using the same old modem but mine is Alcatel Lucent I240G.

DL speed = 104++
UL speed = 52++

Ah yeah, that at least has gigabit ports I believe.

I played with router settings and got it to about 85mb down tops, no higher. Opened a case with TM and see if they'll switch the modem.
