I got my new 30mb unifi today. They gave me a tplink AC1200.

My setup is 3 connection points from a router at my study room downstair to living room and master room upstair, connected through power line adapter.

Before unifi, i use streamyx for internet and iptv, they worked well where i connected any on the lan port to my study room powerline.

But today with new streamyx, when connected using port4 (vlan IPTV) to powerline adpater, iptv worked but the internet. If I connected other ports to the power line, internet worked but IPTV not working. I was looking at ac1200 functions and i couldnt find any vlan bridging.

One way to solve this is to use a switch but I reckon it is redundant and waste of electricity. Supposedly the router could be configured to achieve this. Perhaps I just noob, out of idea how to solve it.

Anyone could shed any light?

Thank in advance.

Bro, log into your router. Click on ‘Advanced’, then ‘Network’, then ‘VLAN’. You will find VLAN settings or tagging for the 4 ports. It’s 500 for Internet and 600 for IPTV. You will have 500 for port 1 to port 3, which is Internet access, and 600 for port 4, which is IPTV. You can change the values from there.

I know i can change that. But my question is can I bridge both iptv and internet channel together?

Easier solutions get another pair of powerline for IPTV. You can use single powerline but needs another switch to handle vlan on all location.

Will it work if I connect both IPTV and Internet to a gigbit switch?

Can you further elaborate this?

Can I do this?

TM ONU ---> AC1200 ---> Gigabit switch (connected with IPTV and Internet) ---> Powerline A ---> Powerline B (in another room) ---> Gigabit switch (Connected with smart tv, STB, bluray player etc)

Thanks.

Always remember UniFi is pay first and use later.
First bill is always current month's pro-rated plus one month, the duration of the charges is stated in the statement.

Like that, oic. Let wait for next month bill.

Currently using the C1200 as a wifi router.

Speeds are a bit less than when it was just an AP. And the web config is kinda slow.

WiFi Router: TP-Link C1200 v1
Firmware: 1.0.0 Build 20170905 rel.41738 (EU) (It came with this ootb.)
