QUOTE(zkteh @ Mar 6 2018, 01:38 PM) Hi, I assume some of you are still using the beta firmware, I want to gather information about WAN IP keep changing issue. Do you guys in BETA firmware facing the same issue? I tried to contact TP-Link support but apparently they told me contact TM instated, because this Archer 1200 is provided by TM. If you can, turn off the wifi, run for 24 hours and see if the problem goes away. Some low end consumer routers tend to overheat under load (routing and wifi both working) because of the heat sink design. If you need wifi connect up a separate AP in the meantime or use LAN otherwise.

QUOTE(saf @ Mar 11 2018, 09:39 AM) Hi Guys, Is there a lot of difference between ASUS 87U and ASUS 86U router. Experts please advice... Where can I get a good deal for ASUS 86U please advice ...TQVM AC86U currently has the fastest Asus router CPU and the newer Broadcom BCM4366E chip. Always buy unopened factory sealed set as you may not wish to risk picking up an exchanged unit. No experience with overseas sets at half the price as you would not know for certain whether they are exchanged sets. Also note there are discussions on snbforums around the Broadcom driver used in the AC86U. Its pretty much the best router in terms of specs from Asus at the moment just some issues with the firmware which Asus will fix. None of the issues will afffect normal usage, This post has been edited by XPS: Mar 13 2018, 06:17 PM

QUOTE(saf @ Mar 11 2018, 12:46 PM) ok great but features are not so important to me only its the 5GHz speed must be really good which be able to support future up to 500Mbps... Currently monitoring, the IOS device on 5GHz from router wifi log showing connection over 120 hours. Be prepared though for minor issues though. Its stable if you tweak the settings although it was a painful experience at first.

QUOTE(saf @ Mar 11 2018, 05:12 PM) ASUS has many high end routers which is the right router to go for ASUS68U [some claim is the most stable UNIFI router ever] ASUS 87U, ASUS86U,ASUS 88U [are designed for gamers ]. Basically router are designed to last longer.. Is always the best to go for the latest router etc ASUS 86U .... You are looking at either GT-AC5300 or RT-AC86U which has the Broadcom BCM4366E wireless NIC. AC5300 has tri bands versus AC86U which has dual bands. Otherwise it looks about the same specs wise. If you want serious gaming stability and prepared to get a bit technical, Mikrotik/UBNT is cheaper on a similar setup. If you want a simplified setup and management then its any vendor gaming routers with faster CPU and gaming priority QOS. Even 300Mbps wireless connection on 5GHz is more than enough for gaming and it does not drop on 5GHz since relatively no interference. Of course wired is the best for gaming always. QUOTE(saf @ Mar 11 2018, 08:19 PM) Great anyone here can share setting for ASUS 2Ghz and 5Ghz for AC68U.... Turning off Air Fairness is probably the main thing. Game priority QOS. WTFast turned off as gaming latency is better without it (unless for those days latency is off the charts WTFast will help). Most of the other settings keep defaults recommended by AiProtection scan. Do not run the new router and your old Asus in AiMesh mode, its unstable. That should get you running fast. Other settings you can tweak once you get to understand the AC86U better.

QUOTE(christina1 @ Mar 13 2018, 07:57 PM) ASUS AC87U, ASUS 68U, 86U, 88U considered high end router's? AC86U, AC88U, AC5300 cost over RM1,500 compared to routers under RM500. Broadcom chips are usually more expensive and seen on higher end routers as they are reported to perform better. Plus things like AiProtection against internal network intrusions.
