erm is unifi having problem ? utube need buffer, facebook sometimes need load, 50mb here

Yeah. Same problem. Was on the phone with 100 for 20 minutes waiting for a rep to pick up my call, but no one did. Hung up, waited a while, then called again. This time, there was a voice memo stating that Unifi is doing an "upgrading exercise" for Melaka and Selangor...yeah, "upgrading exercise my a@@". I guess at TM, any network breakdown or problem is probably referred to as an "upgrading exercise". Funny how they don't announce their upgrading efforts until they are right in the middle of it.

So, it appears that the old customer service portal at mytm.tm.com.my iw no more, and that we are required to create a new account at unifi.com.my. Problem is, I can't seem to access the page - the site times out on Chrome, Opera, and Firefox. TM Help wasn't very helpful, suggesting that the problem is on my end. Anyone able to (or not able to) access unifi.com.my?

May I ask where you are located? Wondering if it's just me, or my area. I'm in Ampang.

Guys, what should i do when subscribed for 30mbps, but speedtest only shown 5mbps? Fyi, im staying at high rise condo. is it normal?
If i complain, would it help to resolve the problems? "Thinking of downgrading" #feelscheatedĀ  bangwall.gif

THIS! I'm on 50Mbs, and I'm getting the same problem. I'me getting as low as 3-5mbps, even for some local servers. I actually complained to TM, and they want to send someone to my house this week, but no one will be around, so their way of dealing with this is to close the report and ask me to call again next well.

Anyway, give this a try so we can compare.

1. On speedtest.net, try YTL Broadband, MyKris, and Universiti Tenaga Nasional local servers. These should be fast. I get near full speed on these.
2. Try any other local server, including TM KL server. I get only 6Mbps down on the TM KL server. If any traffic is routing through this server, that might explain the crappy speeds.
3. International servers, whether SG, JP, or US, I get from 2-5Mbps, but can get higher upload speeds up to 15Mbps.

For me, I don't get why they need to come to my house to test. The fact that I can access YTL, MyKris, and UTN servers at full 50/20 means the line isn't the issue. It's their routing. Unfortunately, I have to wait till next week before I can deal with this issue again.

One thing though, is that some downloads don't seem to be affected. But the inherent problem of these >30Mbps is that we are not as sensitive to slowdowns as we were when we were on Streamyx or VIP5. That means it is also possible for us users to get less than 50Mbps during browsing and not be aware of it. But that also means that ISPs can get away with giving less as long is the user gets a speed that's "fast enough". Of course, that is more like to happen for things like browsing and video streaming, but not direct downloading / torrenting where download speed info is visible.

But I'm glad someone brought this up. Hate to say it, but at least it isn't just me, so at least I know it's not my equipment or line.

BTW, can someone clarify this RM50(?) charge that will be imposed on your next bill if TM comes to your house to check? They can only charge is the equipment fault is on my premise, right?

Hey folks. Just want 2 ask how do yall protect your unifi modem when tropical lightning if your house got no anti lightning device?
*
I put my modem (and pc + addons) through a ups. Streamyx days, I use to lose a modem (and/or router) every 1-2 years due to lightning, even with surge protectors (not ups). Haven't lost anything since using Unifi + ups, though this is probably partly due to the fact that the lightning is probably not travelling along the unifi lines like it did the telephone lines. Nowadays, once in a while I'll get a strike that trips the fusebox downstairs, but my pc/modem/router is fine, and still surfing.

Seems to have slowdown issue this past few days on international sites.
*
It's been going on for at least a couple of weeks, though not as bad as the past few days. I've had sites and youtube videos timed out on me, and on a 50MB line, that's appalling. Wasn't able to accommodate their visit to my place as I was outstation, so they simply cancelled the report#. Don't know why they needed to come to my place anyway, since it was clear that the issue was in their equipment. But this is TM we're talking...must look like they're doing something, when really they're doing nothing.

Any Ampang UNIFI users online right now? Well, technically we're having a service disruption right now, so most are probably are not on. I'm using my laptop tethered to my phone right now. But if any Ampang users are on right now, I'm hoping someone can explain or has more info on this service disruption, cause there's no info forthcoming from 100 - they don't even know what's the problem or when it will be fixed.

Anyone? Anyone?

Still down in Ampang Jaya. Tried to get on Livechat, hoping their CS staff might know something. I should have known better. Apparently they are still working on finding the "root cause of the problem"...yeah, reading from a script. Their @TMConnects... sigh...early on, responded to a few tweets about the service disruption. After a while, complete ignores those tweets from affected customers. You'd think that making some kind of announcement, even if you don't have all the answers, is better than the complete silence we're currently getting. Apparently not.

Seems like the restore date for this service disruption is 23:56, 6th Dec. Is that the $9.99 way of saying time? Donno why they don't just say 7 Dec. 3 days of downtime, and I had to dig this info out by by sifting through their bloody Twitter. Fail as usual. #UNIFAIL #@TMdisconnects

Be glad you have it. Us folks in Ampang have been offline since 3pm Dec 4, including Maxis Broadband and anyone else using TM infra. Supposedly, we should be back online by midnight Dec 6, but hey, this is TM we're talking about. 3 bloody days! I guess they don't believe in designed redundancies...
