Go for 30mbps or 50mbps?
Any suggestions from /ktard?
TQ

in my opinion, 30 & 50 won't make a huge difference in terms of loading videos photos pages, but of course you will enjoy faster downloads and uploads.

Do you guys think it is worth it to upgrade from 50Mpbs ( thank you surprise ) RM179 to 100Mbps for another RM10 ? I mean it's a 24-month promotion only, after that I have to pay at normal price.

I know there might have new packages at that time but what if there is no ?

Just called out TM and agreed to upgrade from 50Mbps to 100Mbps with additional RM10 per month. As confirmed, the price will remain the same after 24 months contract. For the equipment (ONU & router), they would switch you for a better unit if your existing unit cannot support the higher speed package.
*
so you will pay the same RM189 after the contract ended ? but the brochure stated the price will go back to RRP after contract though hmm.gif

Currently I am paying RM149 for 10MB download, HyppTV+Ruby Pack, 600 mins free call.

If I change to Unifi Advance RM139, the TM told me need to terminate and reapply. My question is, is this RM139 only applicable for first 24 months, and on 25th, I need to pay RM199 original price?

When I come to 25th Month, possible I terminate and reapply for other plan again?
*
As per their T&Cs yes, on 25th month you will pay the full price (not sure what price will cost at that time la)

and also yes, you can terminate and install new Package available at that time, as long as there is a port for you to install.

In preparation for UniFi's technician's visit tomorrow morning, I recommissioned the aging DIR-615 and I thought I'd do some speed tests. I'm currently on 50mbps.

Speedtest WiFi MacBook 2.4GHz 20MHz

Not too bad for a wifi router which I got 5/6yrs ago with my VIP5. Tests done on MacBook Pro Retina 13"

Speedtest WiFi iPhone 6s 2.4GHz 20MHz

Now, what was the reason we need an Asus or a Mikrotik router or dual band?
*
How do you get 60Mbps DL speed on 2.4GHz on a phone ?

I always only get around 45 46 Mbps for DL speed on 2.4GHz and over 50Mbps for 5GHz

Anyway I'm having DIR850L router which is kinda sucks for its signal, right ?😅

When I gt far to my house 1st floor corner room, the DL speed is only around 20Mbps, 2.4GHz while 5GHz can merely be connected.

All of yours are the latest already. So you should get it real quick. Just a matter of a few clicks and keystrokes to change your 50 to 100. I think a few of us here with current equipment got their upgrade in a matter of hours.

alright thanks.

anyway Unifi website now down ? It says something went wrong
