QUOTE(Vio @ Aug 6 2017, 03:43 PM) Hmm not sure how to describe this, but it'll be used for taking photos for travels n scenery To be honest, smartphone camera will do which is why I asked what you (your sis) will be using the camera mainly for (type of shoots, special features etc). Either as an enthusiast/hobby or professional level. Also will my budget of 2k+ be able to get a decent 1? Within your budget you can get the Sony A5100 with kit lens (RM1.8k). But if your sis is not keen with the interchangeable option for mirrorless lenses in the future, you can opt for the smaller, much simpler point and shoot Sony RX100 MK2 (RM2.3k) or any other point and shoot that you desire within budget. |

QUOTE(Vio @ Aug 6 2017, 03:58 PM) Thank you. It'll be more towards hobby. So sorry can't provide you much info as I myself am not sure what is she looking at. Planning to get it for a surprise birthday present before she flies out next month. Yes to the bolded part. Think of it as a mini DSLR.In layman term, the A5100 will be a better option if in future she wants to get more lens ; the Sony Rx100 will be better if she wants smtg easy to use? Also what about brands like nikon/fuji? RX100 is a point and shoot camera just like any other digital camera but with extra bells and whistles which is why price 2k+. Other brands I got no experience using them. This recommendation solely based on my personal experience. ![]() |

QUOTE(Vio @ Aug 6 2017, 08:22 PM) thank you but a little worried buying smtg that value from lazada, ill try checking the shops around my place 1st I feel much safer buying from Lazada than Lelong, eBay or other online shops. If anything wrong, you just report to Lazada and they will handle everything (eg: Defective on arrival, Damaged etc) instead of dealing directly with the seller. I Bought nearly 50 items from there incl DSLR Lens, Phone etc plus can use voucher coupons and shopback.hi thanks, i did, in fact none of them are giving any special, they all come with the standard package, 1 free battery, 1 sd card and bag. also do i need to buy any stuff like screen protector etc? Just make sure the item is by local seller with local warranty and have this two logos on the item page ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by sp6068: Aug 6 2017, 08:32 PM |

Screen protector even the one that comes from the factory also good enough already. My DSLR 7 years old still with it on the LCD
But I not sure how it will affect the touch sensitivity on the Sony A5100 since it has a touch screen display. Most to most also free gift seller will give is Memory Card. Bag I think handbag also can put in already la haha. The camera is so small. Just don't forget to put the cap back on the lens when not in use. ![]() This post has been edited by sp6068: Aug 6 2017, 09:33 PM |
