What the diff between these two? If possible in malay words. And if i want to write 'adakah kita terkesan' should it be 'are we affected'or 'are we effected'?
Effect = kesan Affect = mempengaruhi/terkesan
Do I get that right? No?

Effect = kesan Its a Noun or NameAffect = mempengaruhi/terkesan Its a verb or actionDo I get that right? No? You would then say 'are we affected'? Meaning does this affect us? or does the effect affect us.. ok? affect = means a feeling or an impact to our emotion effect = cause of the matter This post has been edited by Richard: Aug 5 2017, 09:34 PM

Actually effect can also be used as verb, but the meaning is a bit different: "to bring about".
And affect is also a noun too.

By the way I at first thought "adakah kita terkesan" meant "adakah kita terasa" as in "siapa makan cili, dialah yang rasa pedas". But after confirming with http://prpm.dbp.gov.my/cari1?keyword=terkesan I realised that I was affected by the english usage of affected.

Effect is a noun.
Effective is an adjective.
Affect is a verb.

primary 1 you never write "are we effected" and the teacher didn't do one huge pangkah on that sentence? don't think too much about grammar,just remember it's always "are we affected". This post has been edited by GHBZDK: Aug 6 2017, 10:24 AM
