Hi, I'm going to get my very first MacBook Pro TB 2016 this coming Friday. Need advice from all pro as this my very first Apple laptop but I'm iPhone and iPad user for quite sometime.

1) what need to check when purchase?
2 USB c to USB. Which adaptor recommend? Saw some cheap one from lazada is it realizable? Basic connect my 2 thumb drive and wireless mouse.
3)Is antivirus recommend for Mac user?
4) what software is good and a must for Mac user?
5)Any other advice?

Best to get a branded or the original Apple USB-C dongles. I tried those from Lazada as well as some cheap third party ones but had issues with them after a month and decided to get the Apple ones

i bought one usb-C multi adapter from lowyat. let see how long it'll last

Using Apple original USB-c multi adapter for more than one year already. So far so good. Reliable.

for hdmi port with that price, just buy original Apple hahaha

I bought extra Apple original USB-c adapter during the price cut period. Save quite a bit.

Now with 4 ports on my 2017 MBP I can connect more devices concurrently than the one port on 2016 MB.

Be prepare to learn how to use.. not easy to get use to it if you come from windows
Even I own MacBook in mid 2016, I still hv hard time to learn the Mac OS stuff..
It is easy to get free stuff in windows base but Mac OS you will going to hv hard time to find free apps stuff

Quite the contrary, i get more free apps on the OSX (mac os) and none of them have hidden spamware like Windows. There are rarely free apps on windows anymore, all loaded with bloatware you wish u never click agree on installation.

my free apps mean, you can crack any apps/program easy in windows as compare to Mac OS.
probably I still new to Mac even being a year with them...
for example, IDM for windows I hv it full version without paying.. all I need is crack it...
but in Mac OS, I searching few IDM but none get close to it without payment... I currently using Folx but not full version.
movie player, I using sPlayer and it is free in Windows but paid apps in Mac OS...

I admit I still new to Mac.. more to learn..

so far 3days usages I just love using it😇. Still learning from youtube video and read review suggestion for all the useful apps.

Why when I use fingers to feel the surface of it , I feel like there a vibration when the notebook is charging.

Had this problem when using the 2 pin plug, so I use the 3 pin plug and no issue

Having use OSX for decade, all i can tell you is you can get "free" apps in both side of the aisles. Of course you do need to look for the "cracks", like Windows, you just have to look and not every app has a crack. However, the crooked version app on OSX is much safer to use than Windows.

Util recently, where i can get tax reliefs from buying software. I paid ZERO on all OSX softwares. Most of them are straight up free, there's no hacked version needed.

Since you got iphone and a macbook. Welcome to apple eco system where everything is so easy(semi promoter haha)

I personally use handyPrint app on Macbook to use any printer as AirPrinter and Remote Control App(and Remote Drive app) on ios by Evgeny Cherpaka(RM20 BUT SUPER WORTH IT) to remotely control my macbook to shutdown/sleep/wake/change songs/act as a mouse and transfer files using wifi direct between macos and ios, all from my bed(lazy student)

And oh dont forget to use iTunes remote app and setup facetime on macbook to enable answer and make normal/facetime calls from macbook.

It is easy. I don't even have to learn how to install. It is different from windows but it is straightforward enough. I poke a few times and got the hang of it. That time I was using chrome but now I am browsing exclusively on Safari.
