a 2" full range can make your staging more "presented" at your sitting height with it's ability to produce lower frequency than a common tweeter. But there's also a considerations on oem power source.

A good full range speaker will need minimum 30W to 60W even it's a 2" driver.

If you were to only upgrade to the 2" full range driver with pnp install, you are gonna messed with your midbass which will be producing the same range of frequency with the 2". so ended up, "minor upgrade".

A proper 2" upgrade will included a low pass filter for the mid bass, on door mostly.

This will seperated the diff freq needed for each driver and it make the sounds proper.

SO you still have to rely on other 6" speakers in the car? This 2" is quite interesting as I'm rebuilding my '78 Mini which was as original with no sound system. I was thinking of making a box at the footwell to put a 6.5, but I'm having lots of 2ndd thoughts as they do take up space. In the Mini, speakers on the door is not an option.

So was thinking of using these plus an active sub. Most times, I listen to the engine, but it would be nice to have some sound.
