I just checked using unifi.com.my for coverage. After choosing my house street address, it come out msg saying "Yeay! You are within our coverage area!"
Wow! Finally got unifi lite I guess since my house pole is still the old one.

When go to the page where you choose the package, there's only 1MB/2MB/4MB broadband. Thanks to renaming now streamyx is unifi and getting my hopes high.
Pakiu TM!!!

LOL.. I also kena early January..
but since then, Unifi overhead fiber cabling already installed (just like the one you posted - with the loops),
I've registered for Unifi with reseller (he came and open table just at my jalan's junction),
and now just waiting (and praying) that they're gonna activate it fast..

some people say TM took 1yr+ for actual Unifi activation even after Unifi white/grey DB installed.
*
Lucky you, here still no install fiber cabling nor any reseller open table nearby.

While taman beside mine the pole already have the cable loop. And I check at unifi website, house there can get 100mbps. Jelly....

the loop is for unifi lite only?
*
If got such loop means have full unifi and unifi lite.

Full unifi must have such loop.

Unifi lite either can be running on line such as the picture which is fibre optic, or on normal copper line but TM have changed it to vdsl.

Wish that in future Unifi TV is not compulsory add-on so I just enjoice the only internet without paying useless crap TV content.
*

I think that would be impossible in these few years.
Recently they got the rights for Fox channels which means they expanding their channel offering. So now even less likely it will be unbundled. All subscribers have to keep paying for this crap TV.

Nice package U got if it is rm88.

I just got a call from tm to upgrade from my current 8mbps rm160 package to unifi lite 10mbps at the same price. I wish I could get it with rm88.
*

The most people are paying for lite is 129. Paying for 160 is very expensive.

Are you still under contract? If change to lite will the contract be renewed? If renewed then I feel not worth it to pay additional 40. Better wait till contract finish, apply new lite line and terminate 8mbps line.

I got no contract... But if take the 129 package the contract will start back 2 years.. If cont 160 mean no contract. Between, the basic package 129 does it include free landlines to landlines call? Or need to get the STD 20 only got the free fix line call?
*

Continue 160 no contract but lower speed and more expensive.
New lite line 2 years contract but faster speed and pay less.

If within these 2 years you got plan to stop using broadband then maybe better don't get into contract, else better change to cheaper line since you still need it for these 2 years. If your place have faster unifi package in future you can upgrade it without any penalty.

I'm not sure if it's with free landline to landline. But is it necessary for it? These days everyone have smartphone and data, why not use it for calling? I don't even give my house number anymore because phone is much better with it's ID caller, call time, duration and other things.

thanks i just notice infront if my house bot sure when they set it up
fedup with the agent not yet submited my application
call 100 to sign up hope getting news from.them soon
*
Wow lucky you. Better don't just wait for 1 way to get it, such as waiting on agent. Since unifi got limited port, if others already taken all the port then cry also no use because you waiting for the agent that didn't process your application.

do you guys have any information until when the promo is? TM is currently laying out fiber in my apt. they said approximately mid of march they will finish the infra and then we can apply the unifi.. hopefully the promo is till end of march or onward
*
You can go to any nearest tm point and ask to submit the application and put you into waiting list. Like this you're more secured to get a port.

The promised package is unifi lite which is 5mbps upload right?

You can try to disable all adsl modulation first and see your upload revert to vdsl.

If not then have to complaint to tm

Probably a Hybrid CPE where LTE and ADSL utilise at the same time. hmm.gif

Ya, I also don't understand how it can work even by copper line.

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Mar 9 2018, 05:56 PM)
Is it really this?
It seems to be sort of portable wimax device.
But the magic box say use existing tel line, even if it's copper.

"We are pleased"

Pakiu TM! Basically you're charged the same no matter you keep or terminate the line until finish contract.

With such terms, nobody will dare to renew their contract with TM.

TM may come up with the pricing scheme similar to Singtel.
Different pricing for 12 month, 24 months, 36 months or 48 months. The longer the cheaper.
So we buy/re-contract package, eg RM149X12, RM129X24 or RM99X36.
IF remain 12-month penalty, someone may take advantage.
https://www.singtel.com/content/dam/singtel...dConditions.pdf
*
If they came out with such package then have reason for the changes in penalty. But for now it seems they want to maximise their profits at the expense of consumers. With such terms, whenever consumer sign a contract with them, tm are guaranteed to get total amount for the contract duration, if consumer want to terminate tm will still get the full amount but without providing any service. tm shareholders will be very pleased thumbup.gif

Does Singtel also have same terms for terminating contract?

SUBB at the moment only support 10Mbps but VDSL at the moment can support up to 30Mbps

VDSL will get turbo but best effort speed, we already received info from TM regarding VDSL turbo free upgrade
*

Currently VDSL is streamyx line right?
Means it can be upgraded to be more than 8mbps?
My modem show download line can support until 24mbps

*

It does sound like TM is out of ministry focus because they offer the RM79 package, but purposely make it unattractive by limiting to 60GB/month.

Very greedy and cheapstakes marketing..
To make it more unattractive, then rather implement RM79 with 60MB/monthly.. shakehead.gif
*

I think just to show govt they did lower the price, by creating a package that nobody want to take. In the end govt objective to lower the price is not met.

Kudos to Maxis for being the first one to have package that's lesser than RM100 that people actually will want to get.
