Just want to share my experience as a new Unifi Lite subscriber, from Streamyx 4M.

Installation: paid RM50 for "connector" (my father was a wireman, he lay out the piping over the ceiling and help the contractor to pull the fiber optic to the living room. Since the connector can't pass-through the pipe at corners, technician has to cut it and re-connect with a connector once the fiber optic came out from the ceiling. Took him 2 minutes only to earn RM50)

Modem given: TP-Link AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (Model: Archer C1200) & Huawei HG8240w

Speed test: ping <10, Down 10.5, Up 5.2 (very stable speed). No throttling for torrent.

The technician help me to set both 2.4 & 5.0Ghz band for Wifi. Wifi connection on both laptop (2.4GHz) & android phone (5.0Ghz), no problem.

Rmb to do these
1) Change log in password for 192.168.0.1 (default username/ pw was 'admin')

2) Change DNS setting for both IPv4 & IPv6
Google Public DNS IPv4 addresses:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
Google Public DNS IPv6 addresses:
2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844

I still have questions, and may need to visit TM point to clarify, unless I can get the answer here

(Q1) My streamyx line is still active (despite the technician confirmed that it will be terminated once Unifi is activated, as stated in his laptop). OMG, I may get charged for streamyx!
they will charge prorated when the line is terminated
(Q2) How to ask for deposit refund of copper telephone line?
they will refund using citi bank cheque when all outstanding payment charges are deducted and balance return to you
(Q3) Hypptv everywhere can log in, but all channels can't be played. Error message "Playback error due to some problem with the device(111). Please try again or call 100" . My Redmi Note 3 is rooted, could this be the cause?
yes, the app will not played if it's rooted

Already registered when I have Streamyx, now has >2000 TM Reward point. However, my streamyx acc is still "Active" and I don't see any Unifi acc under my name/ email (same email for Streamyx & unifi).
do wait for 24 hours to 48 hours for them to terminate. the line will be active but unusable after 48 hours or so. your landline phone number will be ported if you have requested so. the points will be credited about 1 weeks time. if you have an existing corded or dect phone, do plugin into huawei port label tel1.

Install the hypptvhd. My username/ password is incorrect, which is weird because I tried both the supplied password & the newly changed password, both failed to even log in. When i click forget password, both options (sms & email) don't have any button to click to proceed to next step.

TQVM, I'm so dumb to put my username as xxxx@unifi, now can watch some channels already. I cannot thank you enough for your guide!

I just upgraded my Streamyx 4M to Unifi lite yesterday, so far the streamyx is still active at the moment.

Anyway, how you guys get the hypptv anywhere login account?

can existing DSL hse using streamyx change to Unifi Lite but use back the cooper internal wiring?

Mine as well but I heard it is better to go through the white termination box as the black fibre optic cable is more prone to damage. That's what I heard though.

black fiber optic cable means for outdoor & weather proof and it come with steel wire to minimize the risk of fiber optic snap. However it is true that black fiber optic cable is easy snap but it applicable during laying / terminating cable, any unwanted force will snap the internal optic cable easily no matter what kind of fiber cable.

However i preferable go to the white termination box in order to interchange the cable type convert from Black & Hard Outdoor Cable and White & Soft Indoor Cable. With the termination box, i can relocate the gateway anywhere in the room in the future by replace the indoor cable with longer length.

This modern era, who will so STUPID to buy (redeem) a junk fixed phone and need pay RM0.20 per minutes... (isn't mobile is cheaper and easier)

Seconds, we don't want that stupid APP of hypptv at all (if can cencel at registration), some phone or iPad was UNABLE to load it for watching (tested)

Yep, slowmyx is dead. Before this, I used Slowmyx 8Mbps. It was good for the past 5 months after I upgraded but lately it keeps disconnecting on it's own for like every 10-15 Minutes. My SNR keeps dropping time by time. Called TM and technician switch port and it works like 5 hours and it goes down again. Trying my luck for UniFi Lite and managed to subscribe it. It the best decision. After I switch, I never face any random disconnects for the past few weeks now. I don't why but it was great. Now, the UniFi Lite port at my taman is almost full. Many subscribe to it. Hahaha but I still prefer the Advance and Pro version soon. Waiting for TM to Fibre in my taman soon. Don't know when but lately I saw many contractors at my area. Looking at the pole, cabinet, undergound cable. Hope it means something I hope.
