congratz...

same here, after my OWD 2 weeks ago... took 2 dive on 14th having hard time to maintain buoyancy  and another 2 on 15th sept seem improving better a little (include reducing 2kg weight)... This weekend going for another 4 dives  rclxm9.gif

Buoyancy comes with practice biggrin.gif
Unless you are a fish/sotong. But you'll get better with more dives. Don't worry about that. Relax, long slow breathes, and ideally not too much weights.

Once you figured out how many weights you need, you'll be more comfortable with your buoyancy. I feel OW courses generally give students more weights than what they may need.

*
I'm feeling maybe my OW instructor gave me not enough weight... anyway didn't experiment too much. Tried going with less, but didn't tried more... scare to sink onto sharp corals... hahahaha

Vis pretty bad (5-6m max) in Redang. not fun diving. nothing interesting except 2 gigantic jelly fish, different species. my fish ID not good enough to tell you what they are, but definitely 1m diameter at least
*
ahh... too bad.. might still get some diving in to built experience... i'm starting to forget what i learnt... e.g hand signals.

QUOTE(michlove @ Oct 2 2019, 05:22 PM)
I heard Tenggol vis is very nice already!
*
Yeah, a colleague just came back from Tenggol... he said vis was good

Hi guys,

Err where can I find full face snorkel mask? Don't need a professional grade one, just to use for typical swimming pool party kinda thing.

Prefer COD.

Thanks.
*
Can get online... Lazada, Shopee, etc

hmm.gif must got lots of pretty mermaids in a pool party that you need a snorkel laugh.gif

My swimming pool, i only see the repeated tile pattern and the dead leaf and other dirt at the bottom. puke.gif

Just done with 2 dives in Redang over the weekend... Vis was about 15-20m.
Too bad didn't had time for more dives, since flying and had other friends who are non-divers

sad.gif didn't see any whale shark

I got many leaves to clear before end of the year.

Any recommended place to dive in November / december ?
Preferably around peninsular... east coast monsoon, what about west coast ? Thailand, Indonesia ?

Koh Lipe? Bali? Padang? Pulau Weh?
All nice n affordable.
*
Was considering Koh Lipe since can fly to Langkawi and then take a boat there, but prices (per dive) seem high vs Malaysia prices. hmm.gif
Or maybe it's normal and i'm just not used to it.

Need some opinion from all the pro divers here. Currently when I went for diving, I will just wear top (Sharkskin Chillproof wetsuit). And I planned to get the dive pants now.

So, should I go with dive pants, so will be 2 pieces (top and bottom) ... or just get 1 piece wetsuit better?
*
I just started, so not a pro... for me i tried shortie wetsuit and 2 pieces (top/rash guard and long pants)
Just my opinion, I much prefer the 2 pieces, i see many divers also using 2 pieces... just much easier to put on and take off.
Also easier to pack and dry

Ya, coz seldom dive outside Msia pun. And many ppl told me full wetsuit difficult to wear.

*
Using shortie, i needed a friend help icon_question.gif to put on and take off laugh.gif
Full wetsuit i tried to put on and gave up and it was XXL size already sweat.gif

You're not going to know the weather so far in advance anyway. Check a day or two before and if the sea forecast is crazy like 3++mt waves you better stay at home and watch Blue Planet laugh.gif

Just back from diving in Tioman over the weekend. Weather was good with calm seas except for Friday going to the island.

Too bad visibility was terrible... max was only 7m i would say.

I sometimes bring the reg bag as carry-on. One police at KK airport ask, what is this, i replied, scuba regulator, they OK with it. The fact they ask was also surprising.
*
Mana tau it's just to check if you can answer correctly and not a courier trying to smuggle stuff... lol
Later got people answer it's the regulator for cooking gas cylinder... tongue.gif
