same here, after my OWD 2 weeks ago... took 2 dive on 14th having hard time to maintain buoyancy  and another 2 on 15th sept seem improving better a little (include reducing 2kg weight)... This weekend going for another 4 dives 

Buoyancy comes with practice
Unless you are a fish/sotong. But you'll get better with more dives. Don't worry about that. Relax, long slow breathes, and ideally not too much weights.

Once you figured out how many weights you need, you'll be more comfortable with your buoyancy. I feel OW courses generally give students more weights than what they may need.

will be heading to Redang this weekend! hope to see whale shark there. been spotted a couple of times already!

Vis pretty bad (5-6m max) in Redang. not fun diving. nothing interesting except 2 gigantic jelly fish, different species. my fish ID not good enough to tell you what they are, but definitely 1m diameter at least

Need some opinion from all the pro divers here. Currently when I went for diving, I will just wear top (Sharkskin Chillproof wetsuit). And I planned to get the dive pants now.

So, should I go with dive pants, so will be 2 pieces (top and bottom) ... or just get 1 piece wetsuit better?

Ya, coz seldom dive outside Msia pun. And many ppl told me full wetsuit difficult to wear.

You're not going to know the weather so far in advance anyway. Check a day or two before and if the sea forecast is crazy like 3++mt waves you better stay at home and watch Blue Planet

I sometimes bring the reg bag as carry-on. One police at KK airport ask, what is this, i replied, scuba regulator, they OK with it. The fact they ask was also surprising.

True, and also pick up, read, watch good habits for yourself. Go to a DC that practice good habits.
