With any accident, the problem with looking for one obvious person to blame and hold accountable, is that it doesn't add to our understanding for preventing it in the future.

Think about it - there's a whole bunch of people involved in the leadup to that accident, and if any of them intervened and did something differently, the diver could have survived. For example, the diver itself, dive buddy, DC staff, trip leader, friends, OW instructor, training agency, etc.

If, instead, you ask why each person involved didn't do that, you will learn a lot more and hopefully apply it to your own diving

Encountered one a few weeks ago... our dive started with a descent next to a wall, and moments later one of the divers lost consciousness at depth. Long story short, fortunately he got sent up and survived it. Buddy was a new OWSI who wasn't quite "switched on", but one thing she did right was to bang her tank for help. Had he been separated with no one around, it's 100% ggwp for sure.

I really don’t understand people that already long time didnt dive but so kedekut to do the refresher course first, or probably dc never ask when last dive and never recommend also. Just do the refresher course to refresh everything, safety first..
Encountered one ow diver that didn’t dive for years, go mabul and straight away want to dive and do advance,
First dive can’t descend, didnt even know how to descend.. he panicked and flapping around, instructor spends 8-10min to calm him down and to try again. Eventually decided and told he need to do refresher course first.

My problem is always fail to get someone attention, try making gorilla grunt sound, too tiring, and cant be heard.
Too lazy to bring the Tank banger stick,too many stuff already to pegang. ( i have the pointer with the metal shaker ball kinda stick)
I saw one dm last time got these squishy like a rubber duck thing (not a duck, idk what is it looks like). It making the same sound like the rubber toy duck sound like underwater. And just clip it to his bcd Shoulder buckle, small and didnt get drag around
Is it just like a normal rubber duck toy Or something else that just work underwater. anyone here know where to get that.
Or any other noise maker that you guys can recommend

yeap. my past few dives all diving with friends all makan sendiri started off as a big 20 person group. when ascend only left 3 with me. the rest all over the ocean

Thing is that, I needed to take leave for that. I would prefer spending my leave on an island plus doing the course. Thanks for the input though.

Doing on the island will require you to take leave, plus you'll be mostly stressed during the 4d3n on the island. Doing it in the city means you can spend doing it over weekends until you're confident, and go island repeat same thing in the sea instead of swimming pool, and you get to mostly relax on the island. I always recommend to split your sessions

I enrolled DM course in 2016 at Tenggol, but failed at swimming and water treading

Based on my experience, if you have plan to do side income, or even pursue instructor level, DM is the way to go.
If not, i suggest you take the Master Scuba Diver certification.
DM is a Dive Pro path, where you have to pay yearly license activation to continue generating income from diving (legally).

Things to prepare, as you mentioned, swimming as well as water treading. These 2 are the most difficult, for me at least.

During DM certification, there are 5 waterskills exercises. Each exercise will be given maximum 5 points according to your performance. Minimum accumulative points to pass for all 5 exercises is 15pts.

For swimming, there are 2 exercises, 400m without swimming aids, and 800m with mask, snorkel, and fins. Each need to be performed nonstop. To get full 5 points, 400m is <6:30min, and for 800m is <14min. You will get 1 point for each if you complete it >13min and >21min respectively.

For water treading, need to do it for 15min, including hand out of water in the last 2 min.

Cannot wear speedos also ah

Is the Suunto's algorithm lock still a thing?

I've checked it out and it does look very bulky, esp on a girl's wrist  Did you have any problems with the strap?
