I wonder people go there because of the dc or the macro. Yea the DC and the people at the DC are a fun gang la. I've been once when they were not so busy. Now its almost impossible to go to the DC on a weekend. |

Diver was a new diver and it was her 1st dive trip. She told her buddy and DM that she was new and can be panicky when descending.
Her buddy told her he/she was new too and it would be better if she stick close to the DM. Diver was missing from the initial stage of the dive. Many lessons that can be learned here and always practice or keep in mind what to do in cases of emergencies. You are responsible for your own life. |

QUOTE(unitron @ Sep 21 2020, 04:34 PM) the DM and DC still need to be held accountable. Diver already inform, but DM still ignore and didn't pay close attention. I cannot be the judge if there was any misconduct done by the DM or DC but the diver was a certified diver. As a certified diver you are certified to dive without a DM. I also once had a panicky buddy, plus in bad visibility, only 3m.... DM totally ignored her and swam ahead. (4 divers, 1 DM) I tried to get DM attention with my torch, but due to bad visibility, maybe DM didn't see. In the end i have to rescue my buddy. For this buddy, it was also her 1st dive trip after taking OW 2 years ago. We need to understand that a DM is just a guide to show you around and point you aquatic life as an added service. That is why in some countries the dive guide is not even a DM certified diver. |

QUOTE(Felice821 @ Sep 21 2020, 11:31 PM) I guess it is normal to feel so initially. Always pay attention to the dive briefing which would tell you how the dive is going to be. As long as you can breathe don't panic and search for 1 min. Get a SMB as it is important tool to have. Learn how to deploy it. If you need help learning I am sure some of us from the forum is willing to teach you at the pool. |

I just bring a double ender clip and clip it to my d-ring.
use it to bang my tank or pull and release the clip to make sound. |

QUOTE(veiven @ Jan 14 2021, 02:57 PM) Planning to do my DM course by 2021 , any suggestion on what I should really prepare on ? Don't worry I failed my 400m swim too although I practiced for a year. As long as you finish it you get 1 point. Aim to get full marks for threading water/float, tired diver tow and equipment exchange and you will be fine. The swimming test seems tough for my self taught bad swimming form. Make sure you train for stamina! oran9e liked this post

QUOTE(veiven @ Jan 18 2021, 02:20 PM) I am very surprised that people dont score high for swimming ... Not all but I would say most instructors cannot do it.At least I don't feel the need to be as worried now , I was thinking all instructor gungho swimmers I trained in the pool in a straight line while during my test it was in the sea beside a small kalong going in rounds. Keep in mind the swim you are not allowed to use any swimming assisted items so no goggles ya. |

QUOTE(eugenetwh @ Mar 9 2021, 08:51 PM) get surat and then what? LOL i can stay on the island but no customers can come in for me to work anyway. I guess so. I heard B&J offer letters to customers who want to go diving with them. Maybe that is one method?i mean its nice to just relax there and enjoy doing nothing compared to the city la. But food and expenditure on the island aint cheap bro. If not then organize through tour agency. Hahaha |
